If someone actually turns off there profanity filter they should have no reason to be offended for being sworn at.
If by chance the filter was still in effect, a person doesn't know whether they actually dropped the f-bomb because it would say @#$*. Or whether that person actually just posted @@#* as the actual word.

Suspending people because someone else who turned off the profanity filter (which defaults to ON) is lame. GMs have better things to do than cover for people too stupid and masochistic to do it for themselves.

I have never heard of a online game that allows swearing or insults. The profanity filter is just an additional precaution, not an excuse to swear anyway. Even if you only see stars, you still know someone cursed at you.
