Why oh why Turbine?...

Your post says the forums and social sites will be up during maintenance but of course it wasn't to be til just now...

why oh why can't we get some real truthful communication?

They were down for less than two hours (hour and a half maybe). I made a post an hour after the servers had shut down.

Maybe thats the "Unforeseen circumstances" that they had to extend the maintenance window for? A complete server shutdown?

1. Turbine maliciously posted false information about the forums being up when they knew they would be down, in an attempt to purposefully frustrate players.

or...

2. They accidentally took down the forums during maintenance.

Using Occam's Razor, the answer is "2."

I set my day today around when the game would be down so I could do a few ingame things and guess what? The 6-10am "eastern" (I assume EST?) is not even close to the time the game is down. It feels sometimes like Turbine is the flacky DM we all had that comes up with wierd monsters and wierd rules on the fly, then has to leave cuz his girlfriend wrecked the car AGAIN.

Turbine if you all just want to have enough subscribers to just cover your costs so DDO can exsist for your playing purposes alone and your good friends - you are doing great! If you want to grow please act more like a business. Many of your players have professional lives and if we acted like you do we would probably not have them anymore.

Oh and look more unforseen circumstances so the game will be delayed another 2 hours - we all know that will 4 hours. Just like the last 3 times - wow wish I could perform like that at work.

Game down for 6+ hours so we can have pirate zombies - another lvl 6-9 craptacular quest series and all the raids still play like **** with lag (before you say no lag you may want to run with a group with some DPS and NO combat settings turned off and everyone wielding a masterworks two handed weapon does not help).

Sorry to rant but come on Turbine - You make it hard on the possitive people who support you.

You plan your day around a game? I plan mine around work.

And I dont think they are adding the pirate zombies since they said at PAX East that it would be released on April 9th. I think they are doing what most MMO's do when they are running huge servers with hundreds of thousands of customers.... Maintenance.... And if you have ever had to fix something that is complicated, then you should know sometimes it takes longer then you think it will. Especially if it is Windows based. :D

I won't be a customer much longer if headway is not made on these glaring issues. Hell, i won't even be a F2P customer if something isn't done soon; There's too much downtime, server crashes, lag, bugs, F2P idiots, not enough meaningful content, one major city (lol?), lack of concise communication, horrible itemization, lack of things to do besides quest and the crappy raids, all sing of LFMMORPG to me....
