Time for another DECENT FUN Event

On Devourer we had a guild event, where each guild nominates a team of 6 to then battle their way through a series of mobs, those that complete got something appaling like a new hat.

I think the basic idea is great with some amendments.

1) Teams of 12 can be registered on the forum, and do not need to be in the same guild, but names etc need to be provided prior to the event.

2) Forefields are put up in the Tharask arena model (better forcefields this time so that watching players outside dont attract agro)

3) Teams are allocated a time slot over the Saturday and are pitted against random types of monster, if the team survives for X amounts of minutes and X amounts of random waves of mobs they are put forward into the next round. (this needs to be much harder then the EU devourer model, I would say pit them against epic mobs & also enable the use of Arcane spells such as BB and FW)

3a) Teams that wipe are pulled out of the competition

4) The second phase pits the 12 players of each team against a random boss mob of epic proportions and two waves of adds, this is the final and is timed.. say 8 minutes.

Reward if you win.

1) Forum title so that your glory lives on forever
2) 500 TP
3) A chest that uses the same loot table as either VOD, TOD, HOX

Sounds really, really fun.
But I wonder how hard that would be to code though; and how long it would take the dev. team. I have no idea myself, I'm just a graphics guy.

Before we think of a new kind of event, could we please encourage the developers fix the extensive list of known bugs? It's appalling to me that we're sliding down ice slides when, after three years, a jump that lands you near the base of a ladder still gets you stuck on it.

I dont have a char that can participate, but I would love to watch.

In Ragnarok their PvP tournaments were cross server. In the same way that you transfer your char to Lamania, they copied their char to a different server to run the tournament. We could do that with this event to create a cross server competition.

Its not really a new kind of event, its just an extension of one that CM ran on devourer..

if the noobs at codemasters can implement it, then it should be no problem for turbine gurus

yeah with airships comming to a mmo near you ... i wouldnt expect another event till after all the bugs in guild housing are finished.
