As a pure fighter being my first character, he's not exactly optimal, and it isn't exactly what I'm going for. I spent a little more than an hour planning this out, and I'm wondering if he's worth diving into. At first, I was really thinking about a 2 Rouge/12 Fighter/6 Ranger, being able to have a higher UMD score, spotting/disarming traps, but then again, having slightly less int as well as 2 skill levels per fighter level, I didn't think it was worth it. But it was a hard choice, Evasion being one of the reasons.

Looks pretty good.

I would suggest 12 fighter/6ranger/and 2 rogue or monk for evasion and wear a light armor or robe/outfit.

Monk is nice because you get 2 free feats and wisdom bonus to AC which can be nice for mid level content, but won't help you in epic. 2 Rogue would give you 6.5 sneak attack damage and skills.

If you are going this way, go /2 rogue or /2 monk for evasion.

Looks pretty good.

Most people would indeed go for rogue 2 (or monk 2 if AC is a focus, but it doesn't seem to be one here).
You can probably do without Mental Toughness / Two-weapon defense though I haven't thought about any replacement.

Logic

Also, if you go with 2 rogue you can get UMD and then change your alignment to neutral instead of lawful good. This will allow you to use chaosblades and litany of the dead items without suffering negative levels. Once your UMD is 20 you can use pure good weapons anyhow.

Oh yeah I definitely would drop both those feats. You could take 2x toughness, or increase your saves, or any other feats but those.

I would try to get greater 2wf for extra dps. You will need a +1 dex tome for the preq.
Taking 2 levels of monk or rogue would work well, because level 13 and 14 for a fighter dont add very much.

See the Mobster in my Signature for a great version of this build, although I would go Dwarf or better yet, warforged, if I had it to do all over!

As other folks already stated, definitely take rogue level! UMD and evasion are totally worth it.
Just for reference, here's character build if I were to roll character like this.
I went for dwarf, but could easily adapted into other races.

If you cannot afford any +1 tome before hitting lv12, put 1 of level up status point into dex.
Rest goes to STR of course.

Also, for the lv18 feats they can be swapped to anything you want.
For instance, if you want situational AC, then eat +1 INT tome before level up and grab Combat Expertise.
(+1 tomes are nothing expensive for lv17 character)
SkillFocus:UMD can replace bullheaded if you require more UMD score.

Hope this helps :)

Aye aye, I've always thought about doing the Rouge levels. Just not sure where to fit them, somehow. Taking them as the first level is always the basic stuff anyway. So altogether, this is the end result...

If I had warforged, I'd make it warforged too. XD

GTWF slipped my mind. Added in on my 2nd re-make.

Preferably Human if possible. Dwarves aren't really my cup of tea.

Makes me wonder why I have Fighter Armor Mastery when I'm wearing Light/No armor. Replace them with SP ones and I think I'll be good. XD.

My highest levelled toon is a level 9 Paladin, so if possible, I'd rather try to make a build without any tomes for now.

Anything else so far?

EDIT 2: Been trying to make a Warforged version. The class splits are making me have a headache. XD

I agree with this. Use the points you put in Search/DD to up Balance and Spot. Spot is useful to see hidden mobs.
Also you will prolly end up needing a few ranks in armor mastery anyway to get the most out of your dex mod once you equip a +6 dex item. You might never get a super useful AC anyway but if you have the AP those 3-4 extra pts may be beneficial in some cases.

Aye, thanks for the advice. I'll do what I can.

As for the Armor Mastery, wearing light armor with 0 penalty sounds good...

Thanks for the advice guys. =3

Just a question; So my best bet for armor for under level 10 is a +5 Chain Shirt, or one with a Stability effect, correct? When my Dex bonus gets too high, I'd need to go for a Mithral Chain shirt, I suppose?

This guy's reaching level 9. Currently on 6 Ranger / 2 Rogue / 1 Fighter. Finally being useful after levels of keeping Action Points due to the lack of good enhancements to put them in. Tempest 1 So far has been quite the boon. Being able to use Cure wands as well as Barkskin scrolls with a very high success rate due to my levels in Ranger has made me significantly less squishy. I know AC doesn't matter much past 11, but for now, every point counts towards being less squishy. This is significantly more "Utility" than my old pure fighter, at the cost of HP and ease of leveling.

I've been doing the Rogue approach so far, tailing the main tanks and barbs to deal devastating DPS with sneak attack kicking in with my Khopeshes. I've been experimenting armor-wise, at one point using a Stability Fearsome Outfit to find a way to offset my squishyness, but chasing feared monsters was beginning to annoy me anyway. Finally reaching the required Rouge and Ranger levels leaves me nothing left but the familiar Fighter levels. At least for now, my DPS isn't totally lagging behind a pure-built Kensei Fighter, having gotten ITWF with Tempest I.

Any advice for the coming levels ahead?

First of all +1 for renewing my faith in new players. You seem to be on the right track with this guy.

If it's possible, try taking more of the lower toughness enhancements instead of following each path. If you can take tier 1 of fighter, ranger, rogue, and racial, you'll end up saving on AP's. But like I said, that may not be allowed.

Drop the rogue haste boost as you won't be able to hit it at the same time as the fighter attack boost anyway. Maybe you're using it to unlock higher AP's though.

Your hp's will catch up since you're taking fighter (d10 hit die) from here on out, and they'll catch up at exactly the right time - Gianthold. Try to find some DR items- golden greaves if possible, etc. That little bit of damage taken off adds up every time. Stoneskin wands help too - it counts as DR addy, so it would stack with the greaves.

As for armor, maybe look for a guard of stability. Guards are those little hidden boosts of DPS that help that little bit. Acid guard might be your best bet - acid tends to be the element fewest mobs are immune to. But toward end game you will want to go to Reavers Refuge and craft your own armor- with a lucky lottery pull those armors are the best in the game.

Once you get to Meridia, build your Min II khopeshes, then go for damage guards on your items. Also build a cha skill boost item to boost your UMD. It will take a while, but it is so worth it.

Go back to tangleroot and farm out 3 or 4 sets of deathward goggles (Visor of the Flesh Render Guards). Hands down one of the most important clickies to have above level 12 or so. Remember deathward and deathblock are NOT the same thing - DW is better, but can be dispelled by a beholder sooooooo:

Farm out the silver flame necklace in the necro. Get flagged for cursed crypt and run it 3 times to charge the necklace to it's fullest potential - protection from evil, deathblock, and 10/day negative energy absorption. (I switch into this necklace right before beholder fights - it will block finger of death, neg levels, etc.) As an added bonus, if you're on your WF you may pull the docent of defiance from the cursed crypt - one of the most sought after docents in the game.

Run Deleras for the golden cartouche. Gives you +3 to your UMD.

Nope. Both of them are lumped under the same "type" of enhancement, so I'd have to continuously follow the series.

Drop the rogue haste boost as you won't be able to hit it at the same time as the fighter attack boost anyway. Maybe you're using it to unlock higher AP's though.

Class Boosts can be activated seperately from the Human Versatility boosts. I usually use the Rogue/Fighter Haste boosts along with the Human Versatility attack or damage boosts for maximum damage.

I've thought about this (Just pulled a +2 Lesser Acid Guard Chain Shirt of Stability off my first Tempest Spine run) and I do agree that for trash mobs, they add the slight DPS advantage if I'm continuously getting hit. But if I'm playing the way I am, namely not getting aggro and rushing the casters with my Evasion and Speed boosts, what good would Acid Guard do? Just wondering.

From what I've read up in multiple threads, Deathblock is more reliable since it doesn't get dispelled, so... I have a deathblock robe handy just in case for now. I'm currently f2p, which limits me on what I can get, but we'll see how things go in the near future.

Run Deleras for the golden cartouche. Gives you +3 to your UMD.

Some guy was nice enough to get me a Pass and run me through Deleras today. Got the Cartouche in my first run. He said Voice of the Masters is always available, so pick something else and hope for another run next time. I agreed. I can currently reach 20 UMD with Heroism/Skill boost and the Cartouche, so thats awesome enough. I can use restricted items without any issue right now. <3
