Watching the profiteers scuttle to sell Icy Burst kits at 500k platinum each, with 30 seconds till server maintainance....priceless.

It was fun last night as well. I finally broke down and bought a bunch of purple coins, 30 at 1k plat each. Went through them, and got 1 recipe 5, a few 3's, and no 4's :(. Bought 3 4's for a couple thousand. So for a total of around 35k plat, I got 1 weapon with icy burst, and 2 weapons with just the 1d6 frost. Not too bad.
What I loved the most were the idiots putting up recipe 5's on the AH for 100k buyout, and a three day auction...

What always makes me laugh is the same type of person that thinks his recipe 5 was worth 70k plat will scream bloody murder about the 'evil' oil companies raising their prices during the energy crisis.
Gotta love the hypocrisy of fanatical liberals!

The hour before shutdown was like an episode of 24 for me.
I bought cheap motes and recipes off of the AH for pennies of the dollar...without buying them out (waited hours).
I collected all of my ingredients from the toons in my Argo stable and was able to make 5 new "colder than they were before" weapons. I logged out "on the hour"...I dont know when the server actually went down, but I felt like Indiana Jones rolling under the stone door when I was able to use all of my recipes before time expired.
Best....minigame.....ever. ;)
Yeah, the last few hours of the event was better than the event itself. I managed to get two recipe 5s for under 30K plat. Turns out all that time ignoring the event was well spent.
How about those folks placing bids on auctions that end after the event? Honestly, it will be worth going to the harbor next weekend and turning on general chat.

Fanatics are the biggest hypocrits. Example: its only price gouging when someone else does it

What does the voice of the master have anything to do with winter recipes?

Nothing. It's a take of from a series of MasterCard ads, which wre structured [Item] [price] [something else]....priceless!
So, an example might be "Trip to Disneyland $500, seeing your kids swarm Mickey Mouse, priceless!" (or some such rubbish)

There is a saying:
When you are young and liberal, you are brainless, when you are old and conservative, you are heartless.

Actually, the quote is always some variation of:
If you are young and are not liberal, then you have no heart; but if you are old and are not conservative, then you have no brain.
Its about wisdom trumping innocence. And is often wrongly attributed to Winston Churchill.
But Churchill did say:
The inherent vice of capitalism is the unequal sharing of blessings. The inherent virtue of Socialism is the equal sharing of miseries.
"..and the trees were all kept equal... by hatchet, axe and saw"
