Are there differences in the servers besides the names?

cannith and orien are the newest one (cannith opened sep09, orien abit later) and there is no char transfer to that servers

but besides that, nop really

(khyber has the most drama i heard)

Khyber and Argonnessen are said to be the largest servers.

Cannith and Orien are the newest servers, which means there are more new people and people without "great gear" yet.

I think all of the servers probably have their reputations, peak times, and local flavor...but there arent any real concrete differences to base a decision on.

So i am new here, and this seemed like the right place to ask this question. When i click to log onto a server it just says loading for a long time. Is that normal? What should I Do?

No it's not normal. And it's probably not the right place to ask this question ;) (this is a tech issue)
You can try:
- to make sure there is no firewall blocking the client
- to make sure you can properly access the internet within Internet Explorer (delete temp files/cookies just in case)
