If I want to make some noises to lure the enemies away from door or entrance while sneaking, how would I go about doing that? I saw one of the video on Youtube and it appears the rogue in it was just switching some equipments or something and it lured the enemies to where he was. I was wondering how to do that.

In our permadeath play we pull quite a bit so we dont get a full mob to rush towards us and we can pick off a group one by one....best way is to use a range weapon and shot at their feet. You want to be sure you don't hit one or he will alert all his bad friends and they will rush you. But simply close to them and when they move over to investigate you can get into range where one will see you can run over to attack.

he maybe was equipping the chattering ring which gives -13 to move silently

Another tactic I use in close quarters is to look for a breakable that's close enough for them to hear, but far enough away to allow sufficient room for me to sneak away at right angles after it's broken. You also have to make sure they're lured far enough away to open said door without alerting them. It works well if you do it right.
However, this gets harder as the quests get harder, with narrower and smaller spaces to work in.

Thanks for all the advice.

Just don't shoot a ranged weapon at the mob. That's the worst kind of pulling, and will get the whole group of mobs. Either just show yourself to the mob/s that are facing you, then retreat ("body pulling"), shoot a ranged weapon at the floor in front of the mob (from a long distance) that you want to move (this will have to be repeated to move the mob bit by bit) or you can use "noise pulling" where you sneak and keep your Hide score high, but alternate lowering your Move Silently score (by switching equipment) to create noise from your movement. They wont see you but they will hear something and come to investigate. The last version works great in conjunction with the Invisibility spell,

Alternatively you can use the Bluff skill to pull a single enemy without aggroing his neighbors. It's got a decent range and can be used without breaking stealth; if it fails, you lose nothing other than time. I don't know how high you need to get your Bluff skill to be effective at it, though.

Generally, this does work out badly, but does work against certain mobs that either won't move or are quite far away. If you shield yourself with a pillar or other architecture, skeleton archers stay rooted in place and are easy to whittle down.
In open areas, the long distance factor works with general mobs like bugbears, ogres, and trolls, although trolls can be a pain because they move around so much looking for the source of the ranged weapon. They regenerate so fast and cross each other's paths so often that it's more efficient to just wade in and melee.

This is what I wanted to learn. Now on the changing equipment is that done to push the move silent score down or do you make noises when you switch equipment? If it is the former I am thinking on switching to something like tower shield and/or full plate, but the full plate would have a time delay that will slow down the process. Is there a better way?

Here is a thread covering that subject (including commentary from the devs)

Short answer:
Equip items to reduce your stealth skills, such as tower shield, fullplate, and Chattering Ring. Also remove dexterity items.
Just don't shoot a ranged weapon at the mob. That's the worst kind of pulling, and will get the whole group of mobs.
Due to recent changes, that is no longer true in all situations. If you are far enough away you can shoot a monster for damage, and they'll treat it just as if they heard it bounce off a wall.

No you don't make a noise just by switching. Like A_D says above, you do this to make noise while still being hidden, but you have to take at least one step to make the noise. Then you switch back quickly to your Move Silently gear, take off the tower shield/chattering ring (don't use full plate, it's too slow to switch) and move away.
The mob will hear the step you took, and go to the point where it was made. It is important that you are not still there then, or the mob will bump in to you (unless that's what you want). N.B: if you're testing this on a high-level character in low-level content, it is possible that the low-CR mobs won't hear you even when you want them too, since your Move Silently will still be too high.
The Invisibility-pull. This method I prefer since I find it to be easier than equipping/dequipping gear. You need UMD, be able to use arcane scrolls or Invisibility clickies. Buy a stack of Invisibility scrolls (2nd level arcane spell) from the Marketplace scroll vendor. In the quest, equip all your Hide/MS gear and use an Invisibility scroll on yourself. Now hit Sneak and move up to a mob you want to pull. It's important that the mob doesn't have the "See Invisible" ability or this method won't work, so inspect the mob from afar first (CTRL + Z iirc).
Now stand at the spot where you want the mob to go to. While still Invisible, go out of stealth by clicking the icon. The mob wont see you since you're Invisible, and as long as you won't move you're not making noise either. Now take a small step. Then hit the Stealth icon, and back away sneaking. The mob will hear the noise and go and investigate. Repeat as needed. A little quicker than equipping equipment and make noise in that way, in my opinion.
Both methods are great (they do the same thing) when you want to position mobs away from a lever or door, so you can use/open it and then restealth (like in Monastery of the Scorpion) or where mobs are blocking the whole passage and need to be moved to make a path for you (like in Sins of Attrition). Happy Sneaking! :)

Yep I figured this one out the other day and been using it on a limited capacity. This is due to currently my UMD is not high enough for invis scroll or wand and only have a 5 charges invis clicky necklace right now. I will probably invest in more permanent invis clickies so I can go further between shrines. Thanks for all the tips.
You want good hide and bad move silently for this to work. You will see the red circles flash around your feet, indicating that the mobs can hear you. You approach them until a few start moving toward you / attacking air etc. then move back. The trick is to get far enough away by the time the mobs do see you and break your stealth that their friends dont come running after you as well while you + the rest of your group kill the ones you lured away.
