Background: I'm the semi-leader of a band of my friends (my RL Pen-and-Paper RP group) who have started playing DDO recently. Not that I'm all that experienced in the game, I have more time to play. Now I've sunk a fair amount of RL cash in the game and have a ton of levelling options available to me. However, my friends (who play like once or twice a week) do not. They're getting to 4-ish now and I need some help.

I've looked, but I don't remember seeing a "route" for F2P players. Is there a guide/path set up somewhere? We're a static, balanced group (I sub in one of my characters to fill a role if someone can't make it that night). I'm thinking something like "Do X on normal, then do Y, then do Z, then go back and do X on Hard...".

Any help out there?

Check out my guide.(link in sig) There is a list of F2p quests in there. The best thing to do is do every quest n/h/e start with level one quests and don't move on tho the next level of quests until you have completed level one. Never level up until you have to. You can gain almost another full level of experience before you absolute most level.

yep, look at the table here:
http://ddowiki.com/page/Experience_points

and don't level up until you are close to the next level after , ex. at lvl 3 only level up to 4 at ~85 000 xp
the best experience to squeeze out of a quest is to run normal 3x and then hard then elite
ex. you can easily make lvl 6+ in the harbor

also you can buy your friends guest passes to let them do a P2P quest, I would do that at least once - at lvl ~5 for delera's since the trinket from there gives +5% xp

Robi's F2P guide is excellent btw... Has everything you need to know and more. I use it often even though I'm in the same situation as the OP (ie I have bought points and adventure packs), except that I'm a vet...played on the European servers since launch. I came here because of RL issues preventing me from justifying the monthly sub, and the slow but sure death of the european servers.

Thought i'd take the opportunity to thank Robi, and let the OP know that he has all in needs in that one link.

Robi's guide is sensational and definitely not to be missed.

When you do reach a point where F2P experience is more difficult to come by, you might consider switching from n/h/e to n/n/n/h/e or even n/n/n/c/h/e. Because repetition XP penalties don't kick in until your 4th entry and never apply to a new difficulty level, n/n/n/h/e can be an efficient way to ensure your F2P buddies stay on track.
