I realize that the game is free now, but I was wondering if there is any benefit at all to people who purchased the CE at launch, after all that was a $60+ price tag.

You got whatever it gave you way back then, and now are automatically 'Premium'.
And three more years to play the game between then and now.

From original launch, when you bought the game (whether you did or not, whatever. you said launch in your OP), to the 'free' launch, was a little more than three years.
So, being a purchaser of the game at launch meant there was three years there you could have played the game prior to this point.

Well, not exactly.
Being purchaser fo the game & payingf $15 a month means I played for the 3 years. That would be $60 + ( $15 x 36 ) = $ 600 even. Don't take me wrong, I love the changes to the game and all, not complaining. I just felt like I was let down a bit as far as return for the money paid to-date for when the game was sub based. I just got $50 worth of credits so I am hoping this will allow me to purchase most of end-game content ( though it feels like I am buying this for the second time ).
Re; If I bought it = Look at the date under my avatar & title under name ;)
