My paladin uses falchions but there is no holy sword falchion. Is she better off using a great sword holy sword or a scimitar holy sword? On the one hand, scimitars have a better crit range than greatswords and she gets +2 to attack and damage with them because the enhancements for falchion also help scimitars. On the other hand, one doesn't have glancing blows with a scimitar.
I don't know enough to try to make the calculations myself. Does one apply 1.5 his strength modifier when attacking with a 1 handed weapons with no off hand weapon? Does power attack add 5 or 10 damage? Do two handed and one handed weapons attack at the same speed? How often do glancing blows proc? Paladins add divine might and KotC damage to glancing blows so that would seem to imply greatswords are better but maybe smite evil and divine sacrifice would make up for that lost damage with scimitars which have better crit range.
