Favored Soul? RP server? Imma nub. Advice me! Please...

Okie. Hi.
Sooo I know a few people who play pen and paper DnD and since i have a thing for MMOGS, and DDO is apparently now F2P I figured it would be a good way to learn DnD lore and get in with them, id give it a go.

Annyy waaayyy. I usually go on Rp servers because their generally nice, quieter, more literate places ( I admit it, I am biased.). And since there isnt an official one, mayhaps theres a unofficial? Or a server with a good mature atmosphere, or some nice guilds? Any suggestions would be lovely.

Annnd Favored Souls. When I was looking at the classes I found FS the most appetizing, but the problem is, it costs money. And seams fairly similar to Cleric. Though If I do stay with DDO, And I do like it so far. ( I played a few hours last night on a Ranger Tempest) I will eventually fork out atleast the 6 bucks minimum on points to get it upgraded. So ehhh. Ive read whats been said about it in game, but finding it on the DDO website seems to escape me. So is it worth it to buy it now, Or should I wait? Or Just make a Cleric.
And how long does it take to accrue those favor points I hear so much about?

Clerics and FvS are comperable healers. You'll get people argueing both ways.

For a melee character than can heal the FvS is definately better than the cleric.

So it depends on what you want to do.

If you want 2500 to unlock Favored Soul without paying, expect it to take a few months (and you'll need to unlock some adventure packs to be able to reach that amount of favor).

Thelanis server has a good RP community sonce you get off the island. The Phoenix Tavern or Rusty Nail Tavern are good places to find other RP players.
