New DDO Blog Series Started on MMO Sanctuary

One of my friends is doing a new blog series on "A Veteran's Return to DDO". He played from Alpha through a while after release. Now after some time off, he's doing a blog after making a new character from scratch in the "Unlimited" game. I think he's trying to see how far he can go and what he can do while avoiding paying for an DDO Store stuff. This is the first of his blog series, but there should be a new one about every week. I'm only doing the editing, but if anyone wants to offer some feedback or advice, I'll relay it to him for the next blog. I think the idea is an interesting one.

Edit: I forgot to mention that he's started on a different server, so he isn't transferring any items or gold or anything to the new character. It's completely from scratch.

I think it will be interesting to see their perspective when they saw how the game was advertised to be built and how it is now. The Turbine crew (management) has changed the vision away from D&D and into an MMO.

Maybe some background:
Was the player a D&D type person or was he into MMOs?
Why did he leave the game in the first place and did he expect to come back?
Did he play with others who tried to get him to come back?
What did he look forward to during Alpha and has it met those expectations?
What were the most annoying things when he left the game and have they fixed those problems?
What were the best things about the game and have they removed them?
