Please, you already have annoying banner ads on the pages, but now you have ROLL OVER ads??? Those are the worst thing to have - especially when you are on a laptop with a slow pointer rolling around.

as an example, please look at that Kirstie Alley's Big Life banner.

I understand (but don't like) that you have free players running around and need to capture some revenue to keep Gharet (**** web monkey ;)) in a job, but I like to think that, as someone who pays for the game, I should be able to not have ads show up. Just a request to allow us the option to be bannerless when we log in.

If you're using internet exploder, banner ads are your penance.
Otherwise, adblockplus and noscript are your friend. and for sites with pesky flash ads flashblock is also nice.

I don't think "adblock" is the problem the OP was talking about... It's that Turbine thinks it's OK to foist banner ads on VIP paying customers.

I've not seen rollover ads. (But I have gotten that Big Life commercial on Pandora raido a heck of a lot today)

I did see an ad for pants, though. Thought that was odd.

What are you trying to say? Gamers don't wear pants? (Well, OK, so you may have a point, but still...)

Well, it was for woman's pants, if that matters :p.

But on a gaming site I'd expect game ads, or even comic ads. Not woman's clothing.

Considering they think that all gamers are lazy and fat, I would think that the Kirstie ad (struggling with weight loss) and clothing would apply. ;)

But, I had two issues:
First, roll-over banners are always bad (especially if you get one with malware). Second, you would think VIP could opt-out of banner ads.

Yeah, you can use an ad blocker but the point is they aren't policing their advertisements, so they need to limit the malware exposure as much as possible.

My take on it is that you should never rely on someone else to police your internet experience. Hence, I didn't even know they had added ads to the site until the broccoli/beholder thing came up.

just clicked on one of the ads to see *** it was about (something abou acai berry or something). it looks like some news report from channel nine, but you can't even click the news or homepage link (hence fake). god i love this game but why does ddo have to put garbage like that on the page (scam or scam like link on a trusted website)? these kinds of actions degrades the game. i'm sure they can get quality ad banners to generate extra funds... the higher ups in this company must suck balls.

if you use IE you deserve to get roll over ads :)
