Watch Out for EPILEONS!!

To run Epic content you need more than just the experience points necessary to have reached 20th level. You need the right gear, you need the right spells and superior tactics.

Successful Epic players know this.

Those who don't I call EPILEONS.

Translation: Pileons of Epic Proportion, who join Epic Dungeons/Raids simply to consume cleric mana, take the space of somebody who could have been useful, and skulk away with undeserved loot.

Are you an EPILEON? If you answer yes to to any of the following then theres a good chance you are.

My suggestion is to please spare the rest of us and don't join any Epic groups until you fix that which makes you an EPILEON.

I'll start the list:


* Does your Arcane caster have less than 200 HPs at 20th level?

* Did your Arcane caster just join Epic Von 6, to fight a Epic Fire Breathing Dragon, and not even bring Cold Shield?

* Is your Cleric seriously casting Mass Heal in Epic Von 6 ... without quicken?

* Is you cleric unable to cast a heal on him/herself?

* Do you not have Heavy Fortification?

NOTE: This list needed to be posted after an EPIC VON 6 (on my Healbot Adelheid who has Superior Devotion 8) which required me to consume 19 mana pots to prevent a party wipe. (16 of my own and 3 which were donated from another player as Velah was slivered.)

Heh, you're pretty brave to even attempt epic with random puggers. I would sooner attempt solo than try that (maybe not von 6, but the non raid epic stuff, definitely solo before PuG).

We had our 4th Von 6 of the night (3rd for me) and just wanted to get going so we threw a few pug spots in.

BTW: EPILEONS need to read what the portal says when entering an Epic Dungeon.

"Epic Difficulty is an extreme challenge and is for the best of the best. Beware."

Given such a basic warning I might assume that cold shield would be among a caster's inventory/spells/scrolls for a fire based Epic Dungeon/Raid.

Are not those the requirements to join Shroud?

We've taken to mass healing in von 6 when only using 6 melees. Obviously with quicken on, but still use it nonetheless. We've actually pulled melees out when the lag was real bad as well. Works pretty well, though if you get knocked down the other cleric usually has to toss a mass cure or two.

But I've been calling n00b to any healer using mass heal when more than 6 melee, I took a lot of flack for it in one particular thread.
