This may have already been discussed somewhere, not sure. But I have only been back playing for around 5 weeks now and am curious how you spend your turbine points. So, three questions: 1) Do you buy turbine points or only use the ones you earn? 2) What do you find yourself purchasing from the store with your turbine points? 3) Are you VIP, Premium or basic?Me, I am VIP. I have yet to buy points but am planning on a purchase shortly. A bundle for me and a bundle for my son. I have only used my free points so far (obviously) and I used them for a +2 tome of STR for my rogue and a +tome of DEX for my rogue. Next will be a +2 tome of CON for my rogue, then she should be all set. What say you?

Hearts of Wood (two TRs, one GR, another 2-3 TRs in my future)

Exp Potions - my purchases alone are financing at least one new quest a year

I also bought a few huge collectable bags

My credit-card is smoking from over-use at the DDO store.

Oh, and one +2 Supreme Tome, because I'm weak and sad... (and I'll be tempted to buy more with my future TRs)

cosmetics
respecs
bank space
character slots
xp pots for a faster push at low levels. (typically I"ll stop getting these about 9 or 10.)

Adventure Packs. Everything else I see on there tends to be stuff I can get any other way or, with enough work, not need.

Have purchased 8300 points. With said points I've acquired every pack in the game except dreaming dark, about 10 levelling sigils, the monk class, ice skates and about 3 guest passes. I think that's all I've bought from the store. I have 1400 turbine points left.

I buy points on a fairly regular basis (probably average $30-50/month) as a VIP.

Where do they go?

1) any non-capped character always has the 20% xp boost
2) mana pots (I only use store-bought ones now and give away the in-game ones)
3) stat boost pots--I tend to use con and str pots when heading into big fights (epic DQ being a primary example)
4) an occasional +2 tome
5) res cakes-I'll tend to use a res cake to prevent a party wipe if it is a big time saver
6) extra character slots (I've bought 8 of these)
7) true ressing (I've done it twice)
8) hair dye :)
9) emergency supplies that I should have had but didn't (curse pots, cure pots)
10) bank space

I am Premium. Have bought points once (the 5000 for 50 bucks deal) I only buy adventure packs (and even then, only when on sale) Other than that, I only use points earned in game. Have about 2000 points left still and have most of the main adventure packs already (the ones always run/that im interested in) May have to someday buy points again if they start releasing content quicker, but for now, the catch up game is pretty easy to play.

Well since I am a Premium player ( I occasionally buy points) I use my points to buy the Adventure packs when they are on sale ( I only ever buy stuff when its on sale). I did however break down and buy the shared bank yesterday ( as it was on sale 20% off). the reason I bought the shared bank is I have no intention of becoming VIP, and there is no way to unlock it through favour.

Iems that I can get either through favour or with in game gold I probably won't buy from the DDO Store.

I've used only my free points. I've bought:

Character slots
XP pots
Hearts of wood
Hair dyes/styles (I got a bit carried away when they first came out, they're not too expensive but add up fast :p)
Level 1 hirelings (for switch pulling duty in quests where I soloed and forgot about certain switches)

My inner perfectionist is itching to buy points so she can "fix" (AKA, LR) all my old toons that have small, sometimes noobish errors...nothing totally gimping but things that bother me, like skill allocation on my wizard, stat allocation on my cleric (Why in the name of Broccoli did I start her with a 14 STR, 14 CHA and only a 16 WIS? :( ), and my ranger "needs" a feat overhaul and perhaps a monk level too. So far I've resisted, but the temptation is there...

As Premium I've bought loads of points. Things I've got with them:

- all high level adventure packs + some lower level stuff
- shared bank
- two lesser reincarnates + one greater

I wish there was a 900 point pack available for lesser reincarnation. 2 x 420 doesn't quite make it and that 1900 point thing is a bit expensive.

Only spent on TR tokens so far... saving to downgrade to Premium since it's much cheaper.

Still slugging it out as a VIP, haven't bought any points yet.
So far:
handful of character slots (altaholic/experimental builds)
one huge collectible bag
expanded shared bank space
a TR token
and cosmetics. Bunny hats, couple black hoods for lowby stealth chars, and I have a purple drow with a bright green mowhawk (affectionately referred to as the "angry grape")

Still VIP, never bought any points.

Got around 8000 points in the bank. Only used a few for 2 resurrection cakes in 2 instances of a party wipe; and two instances of two gold hiring clerics.

Still waiting for that big Festivult sales event and gather enough points to buy all the adventure packs.

1. I buy turbine points. I try to hold out for when they are on sale, but they have not been recently.

2. I try to just buy the adventure packs (on sale). I have been considering buying a name change and maybe a tome for my future Drow Paladin since I will need it early. I also plan to buy WF to make a wiz, but trying to hold out for a sale... lol. I used to buy the pots, but I gave up on that. too expensive. No cosmetics, that seems like a waste.

3. Premium

I dont really play frequently enough to gain a lot of the free points, which is also the reason I am premium and not VIP.

I'm Premium, and as I've been leveling up, I've been buying TP bundles and using them for the Adventure Packs that I need to keep advancing. So far, I've bought all the Packs except for Necro 2 and Necro 3. The only other thing that I've bought with TP is a Hireling folder because I was having some inventory management problems at the time. I'm not sure I would buy it again.

So although Turbine got a lot of $$ out of me initially, I pretty much have nothing else that I want to buy at the moment but I can still play all the content I own for free :) I have about 580 TP left at the moment and am waiting for something else worthwhile to come along..

Premium

Have purchased 10,000 points so far.

I use points to purchase (almost always when they are on sale):
- WF
- Monk
- 32-point Builds
- Shared Bank
- 1 Character Slot
- Scallywag's Cap (for the noML +10 to haggle)
- Adventure Packs

I enjoy having pretty much all the content unlocked, with most of the functionality of VIP, and a stable of 5 main characters to keep variety (per server, if I want to try out a few new sets after these are capped), without having to worry about working upkeep for the game into my monthly budget. This fact is likely to keep me interested in DDO for a long time, with the probability of purchasing more TPs later to unlock new content and for impulse buys.

Short version: I spend my Turbine Points frequently and foolishly.

Long Version:

1) Spell pots - I play a cleric, and sometimes I like to not have to worry about conserving SP... I want to throw destruction around drop maximizied quickened BBs on trash mobs, and still be able to keep people on their feet. Sometimes it's just fun to spam spells all over the place. Sometimes I need to get a party back on their feet in a pinch too, so I always have a stack of these on me.

2) GR on my cleric. The power gamer in me will not allow a 28pt build exist where he could be a 32pt build.

3) +2 Supreme ability tomes - the power gamer in me will not allow a character I'm going to keep hit level 7 and not eat one of these. I somehow manage to resist using the +1 at level 3 though... for now.

4) Occasional cakes, and supplies that I've run out of in quest... and even once in a while spell components (blush).

VIP, never bought points. I've spent all my free 500 on large and huge bags.

Premium, I've only ever bought adventure packs - about 4000 points worth so far.

Premium player who doesn't like to think about how much money she's spent on TP's. For the most part I wait for sales, especially for the points back before they revamped the point bundles.

A couple rez cakes.
A few XP boosts
A silver leveling sigil
Spell Matties/Theives Tools (forgot to restock on a baby wiz/rog. Forget me own name if it weren't stitched into me underthings)
+10 Haggle hat on my bardless server
Ice Skates
Shared Bank and 10 extra slots
Favored Soul
An extra character slot
Greater Heart of Wood

and every Adventure Pack but Devil Assault, Necro II & III, the Restless Isles and Dreaming Dark. I'm annoyed I forgot to grab Restless Isles when it was on sale the other week, but the rest of them eh. Maybe if I join a guild/static group that runs them... and maybe if my Altoholism lets up long enough to get a character above 15 :D

The only other thing I really want is Monk... and maybe Vet Status. I really hate favor grinding.

Step 1: I buy alot at once to horde away for special purchases, like a savings account.

Step 2: Then I spend them like there's no tomorrow. On cosmetics.

Step 3: When I run out and need another teleport wand, I return to step 1
