I'm interested in buying a new computer and I am curious what I should get so that I can play ddo on ultra-high graphics. Currently I am at low or medium. Keep in mind that I'm not going to spend 10k on a state of the art computer.....

I think I lost you there.

But yeah, you'll want to get at least 2 Gigabyes of Ram and not to mention a uber graphics card and processor to support DDO:EU. I have no clue what the latest, greatest graphics cards are, but I can guess your local Best Buy or other computer store sells them.

Be sure you check your power supply before putting in the graphics card: They can take up quite a bit of juice. Put all these and a flatscreen monitor alongside it and you'll be running beyond uber high graphics!

(On a side note, there also is an HD version of this game someplace...dunno exactly where it is, but its on the fourms somewhere. You need to have windows 7 and directx10 in order to use it though.)

Buy an Apple iMac ( Desktop ) or if you like laptop, MacBook Pro. Install Windows 7 64 Bit and have fun. I am playing on MacBook Pro 17" ( latest model ) with all setting maxed out and have no issues. And If you going to spend 10K on it :) well get yourself Mac Pro workstation. http://www.apple.com/macpro/

Do you play anything else on your iMac. I was looking into one but wasn't sure on how well it would run most games on the market today.

For a good gaming PC, you might consider looking at Alienware, but I wish they showed more info on what brands they're using on Motherboards, memory, etc.

I kinda like this site. They have nice sales around special occasions such as Christmas, Valentine's Day, maybe this Easter, etc. :p I think they make pcs to fit a variety of gaming budgets too. If you customize to a higher end video card, make sure to increase the size of the powersupply because some of the video cards are power-hungry.

You can tailor the pc to your budget. I'd go for an I-5 cpu, or even better an I-7. Intel is way faster than AMD. For a Windows 7 64 bit gaming system with a really nice video card, I'd go with at least 6 gigs of uber ram, and get at least an 800 watt powersupply. Liquid cooling is probably advisable.

I'm not sure which video card to recommend, though getting one that is Directx 11-compatible might be a plan. (I'm still waiting to see what Nvidia releases with Directx 11 compatibility.)

This site can be helpful when looking at video cards and cpu's.

Anyway, have fun shopping around.
