Hi All,
Do we have a firm date on Fernando's state of DDO address? Have we seen any solid hints about what is next for our beloved game? Druids? Races? Complete PrEs? New low and high level raids? I was just wondering if there was a place we were aggregating clues or if anyone had some solid (not wild-guessy leads). Thank you to all who reply.
Best,
Ghirm

They just mentioned on DDOcast, during the "Ask the Devs" segment, that there would be a "State of the Game" address within the week.
Jerry: Yeah, Absolutely. I guess in general you guys got done with the fourth, or mostly done at this point with the fourth anniversary. And all the Risia Ice Sames are now done, Update 3 is out...any hints as to what we might be able to see you guys expecting in the future here?
Tolero: We still got another 20% exp weekend coming here, so by the time this show airs, I think they’ll be in the second birthday weekend. And we’ll have Pax, news from Pax. Fernando’s State of the Game address should be coming out soon, but I’m not sure if it will be out before or after this cast airs, but Fernando will have lots of cool stuff to talk about there, so be on the lookout for that.

Do we have a firm date on Fernando's state of DDO address?
No. (I'll believe the within the week thing when I see it)
Have we seen any solid hints about what is next for our beloved game?
Salty Cube seems to indicate more pirate content soon.
Druids?
No.
Races?
No.
Complete PrEs?
No PrE's will be in Update 4... so that means the next slew of PrEs won't be until Summer at least.
New low and high level raids?
No.

To elaborate the compendium lists a bunch of undead pirate quests in house d level 7-9 (with an epic option listed), also these quests were accidently listed in the favor panel on the first release of mod 3 to lama, and one of theme made a temporary appearence in the second update 3 pre release notes.

So new 3bc content basically--i.e. new use for the Black Loch?

Just a tip for those who didn't know. You can click the Edit Post button, then click Go Advanced, and change the title of your thread.

Unfortunately I don't think this actually changes the title as listed in the forums but only within the post of itself
Edit: I guess Ghir noticed as well :P

D'oh, I guess the mod's have to fix the public listing then.
PS. Tolera said the State of the Game would be posted before or after that episode aired, which to me sounds like it is ready to go, but you know how that goes.

I guess any time not during the Ep is technically before or after . . .

They had to proofread it first, make sure there were no contradictory dates like a certain other post of his...lol

Yeah. I too figured it would be this week based on the "before or after" comment by Tolero, but now that I think about it there's really no statement saying it would be THIS week if it wasn't before the show aired (on Saturday, although the ATD was taped on Wednesday of last week.) Although Turbine does tend to make a lot of its big announcements on Fridays...

Yeah, the more I think about it, the more "before or after this airs" sounds like Soon™.
I think they all went through the same class on Corporate Speak. "How to speak without really saying anything." ;)

It's coming along very nicely. Tolero's in the middle of doing copy-edits. She just rejected my suggestion of axe-kicking (oh yes, I went there again) in place of "more festive". Lame.

only one of true evil intent would come up with the phrase axe kicking
oh and hose the cube down to get the make up off, smack him around a bit to get him angry and send him back out into the wilds of the forums.

Are you the one who came up with Axe-kicking Tarrant?
or maybe just an enthusiastic (if not masochistic) supporter?

After much prodding, I've convinced Tolero to let me post a segment of the State of the Game address.
"We're currently in active development on..."
The end of that sentence is pretty kick-axe, let me tell you.

Most of us were hopping more for a long term vision of the game sort of address not an advertisement. I hope your description is misleading.

Yeah I agree. I'd like to just see a "what's next" section. Even if it includes "we are currently testing these things that may or may not make it to live."

I have taken the cryptic message written by Tarrant ("DDO rocks. It will continue to rock. Thank you all for helping us to make it rock. Kick some axe." & "Here are some reasons why DDO will rock going forward") and entered it into my Little Orphan Annie decoder ring.
It seems that the upcoming updates will include a new race (just as we have all be crying for): The Earth Elemental! Bards will get a new prestige class: The Rocker (one of the perks is all the music from bard songs is now Tenacious D songs). And lastly, there will be a new class: The Rock Collector. This fancy (and advanced!) class will require players to farm rocks from all the wilderness areas to get XP. Never fear! He will also be the new master of ranged combat. Halfling Throwers rejoice your time in the sun has arrived!
