This quest is designed wrong. As it is now the quest is 1) fight, 2) watch story unfold and 3) fight. This is fine the first few times you run it. It is interesting as quests go. The problem is this quest, by design, is meant to be farmed over and over for the essences and the middle story driven part really slows it down. There needs to be an npc, lever or something that would let people skip the whole titan walk and fight part.

Add the 1-2% drop rate on an incredibly powerful item that drops on the FLOOR to be picked by anyone, and only on hard/elite (forcing you to either be a heck of a soloer, or only run it with people you trust like crazy), and you have an even worse situation.
