Yeah JEEZ how can u complain about the puggs realy, i just finished my 3rd pugg raid lead by me, pug-leader or guildie today:
Elite Von6= Success (lead by me)
Elite Queen= Success (lead by pug leader) *i did talk him in to run elite*
VoD norm= Success (lead by guildie)
I just see complaints and how people use myDDO etc etc and BS about leaderless puggs... i lead raids and excpect people who join my lfm to understand whats going on and some how they do (if not i make things 100% clear).
To all of u not completing raid with puggs=people who lack skill to step up and take charge and sort **** out.
Stop complaining about myDDO etc etc i run raids and never use myDDO (only exception is when i look on whom is leading the raid), if people don´t like u´r build start/go for your own raid FFS.
So stop sucking your thumbs and go out there and raid.
My two cent on the pugg raid market.
Sure you don't want to throw elite Reaver in there while you're at it?

Depends on the level, the higher the level gets, the better PuGs get. Additionally it depends on P2P content.
At low levels, at the harbor you can regulary face palm, healers that don't heal, not to talk of being aware they have command and soundburst. Everybody want to run everything on elite, several lvls aboth them, etc.
When the new free lvl 15 quests were released, and I happened to be in that range, I felt a sudden drop in group quality when pugging these instead of GH or Shroud flags.

nekkid leet TS?
anyways, there are many more PuG raids completing than wiping in my experience. But some of the really bad runs end up on the forums because every drama needs a stage.
In general it's safe to assume that lowbie raids such as Von and DQ can easily be completed by a halfway competent group of much higher level (which I assume the OP is as he/she did VoD right after)

Just yesterday I started a tedious chore of leveling a new toon. Thought it'd be cool to have some
company, so I put up an LFM "Waterworks FAST runs. Only on NORMAL. Part 1 of 4 in progress".
I put the crucial parts in caps so people don't misunderstand me.
char 1: So, what are we doing?
char 2: Yo mate, think we can run it on elite?
char 3: What part are you in?
me: first of four
char 3: but east or west?
char1: guys, where are you?
char 4 enters and dies immediately in WW tunnels
Ooookay. I thought what the, I'll give this wacky run a shot.
In the process
- I've been called a jerk for running too fast
- They kept dying all the time (there were 2 healers)
- While rescuing Arlos I stated" I'll be going straight for him, feel free to do optionals". Guess what.
Everyone followed me and then whined 'are we doing optionals?'
- The last part was hijacked - someone went first on hard difficulty
And yes, it gets a bit better as the levels go up. Although I had my share too...
A reincarnate with gear I can only dream of, running around for hours kiting mobs with
a bow. I thought I'll strangle him. Wearing docent of quickening, crappy thing I never thought I'll
have to wear. But I was burning 30k plat daily on haste pots, and these level 14 PUG sorcs/wizzies
insist "I'm a nuker and don't have haste" or just don't cast it.... the list goes on and on.
VoN? It can be more or less run by 2-3 people, rest serving as a deadweight.
But I had to learn how to run this once, too, so I'm a bit forgiving on the newbies.
Heck, I'm still one.
The only thing I won't forgive is making the same stupid mstake repeatedly

I dream of Jeez some people.
Asking gamers to stop complaining on forums is like asking a fat person to stop eating at a McDonalds.
You cant barge in on their natural habitat and ask them to stop doing what they have been doing for so long that it is now considered the norm.
Its like jumping into a lake and asking the fish not to swim underwater.

maybe the completions are people actually starting to listen? Up their game? etc etc...

I zoned out after that. you mean eventually some ppl learn that?
I thought the more of a vet you are, the less you can be bothered to use your blue bar for other pp's red bar :P cuz I still get heals in WWs, can't say the same for several amrath quests :D
anyway, as stated before pugs ftw: "only" constant source of entertainment out there^^

how about using you blue bar for your own red bar?
99% of the harbors "battleclerics"/"meleefvs" can't even do that.

Been there done that... :p
Really. PuG success come down to the leadership. And how many of them wish to listen to said leadership.
I had one TS recently THatwas this group's second go. One guy /ragequit when it got rough, 5 of the people wander what every they wanted and seemed to refuse to listen to instructions, One guy who FINALLY told me halfway up the mountain he was off speaker due to sleepers in the room, TOld flat out all they needed was protection from fire, or the list goes on...
6 of us make it to the top and stayed there after completion. The rest left the group. Probably the worst one in a long time. After I told the few guys who did listen, it was a challenge and the easiest quests can be a challenge if nobody cares about listening to the leader (or leader is clueless and refuses to admit it).

Ive never seen one of your tempest spine raids get crazy enough where someone ragequit. I have also never seen the raid more clearly explained...
How many of these do you run a week?

lol, I'm going to be apologizing for inviting you to that for the rest of my time here aren't I? *grin* Hey, I NEEDED you for that run!

In terms of FVS, they do have an excuse, especially for WF ones which low level heals hardly poke their red bar, that they are better off taking some buffs as their starter spells. For reference, I got my heal at level 5 (resist energy is so much better), though granted I did buy 100 charges of cure moderate wands.
Also, might want to check MyDDO just in case they don't actually have the required stats to cast spells. You never know...

4 or 6...not like I used to do about two years ago. Then I was running 4 or 5 a DAY. I wish I had Fraps up, that was how crazy it was. Irinis can correct me, but the guy who left kept going the total oppisete way I was telling him and dying.
lol, I'm going to be apologizing for inviting you to that for the rest of my time here aren't I? *grin* Hey, I NEEDED you for that run!
Yes, yes you are. It was Irinis's fault I got suckered into doing that horrid one...:p Shoot Velah on your way to the pitcher's mound, then I will hold something else over your head. Better, get one of my guildies to do it (which happened, and he teased about it still!)
SEriously, not a big deal. Frankly I expect the worst from every PuG I join, unless I know 3/4 of the peeps in the group. Did Proof is in the poison with a PuG, members of two of Thelanis's favourite guilds were there. It was a mess, and wiped once, but only one guy didn't listen. THe others were great...ended up stealing a guild from one of Thelanis's Two Favourite Guilds (pantent pending), well one of his alts. :p
Regardless, despite the pain and the money loss, it was a good and fun group, Far different than others I have been. PuGs is how I challenge myself in the game, my raid, if you will. Even quests I run everyday, I still don't know if they will be successful. Just depends on the hearing and following skills of the peeps who join my PuGs.
