Until the bug is fixed that causes so many players an empty Adventure Compendium, and thus an empty Quest column on the Grouping tab of the Social panel, please put the quest name in the LFM notes.
Not for anyone else's sake. Just mine. Kthx. :)
Oh, and Turbine ... please fix the Adventure Compendium bug. I said please.

Yes, please fix this. Annoying as all get out. Especially for new players who dont know their way around very well. The Adventure tab is crucial for locating quests and since so many people have a fit if you ask them to share the quest, this resource is very important.

This bug is driving me nuts. Silly we'd have to put the quest in the LFM notes, but it certainly doesnt hurt and would help get traffic to your LFM.

While we're at it, folks, can we actually select the quest as well? Not *just* put it in the notes? Oh, and have the quest you select actually *MATCH* the one in your notes... that would be nice.

Yeah, re-logging gets my list back most times. But yes annoying.

"Okay I'm here, where are you guys I'm at xxxx quest as stated on the LfM" Party Leader: "Oh we just finished that, were are a xxxx now {the other side of the world!}" me: "Arg!"

Which is one reason why I check to see where exactly the party members are located. if it says they are inside, I drop group =)

This no longer happens to me. I just sit still for about 20 seconds or so after logging in and the info is always there.

OMG - you must be the most patient person in the world !
I login and as soon as DDO let's me move my mouse and or use my keyboard I am opening the Social Panel, UN-checking the Who list, checking the Guild roster to see who is on and what they are doing, and of course checking to see what LFM's are posted...
Speaking of fixing things, PLEASE Dev's add an option to NOT show me the thousands (yeah :D) of other players logged in by default!

This bug was addressed by the devs on the last DDOCast. Basically, they're aware of it but don't know what's causing it. Their best guess is that it's lag-based but without being able to reproduce the bug consistently it's hard to nail down and fix.

A little bit different yet related, I get tired of selecting the quest and difficulty, writing both in the notes and then when we are about to start someone says, 'So what difficulty are we doing?'.

heres a thought... if you select a quest on the LFM, have it automatically share that quest to everyone who joins through the LFM posting. I mean its already a matter of just hitting a button, why not just cut out the middleman?
if I jump the gun and start moving or open the social panel or compendium, the compendium is usually blank and I have to re-log to fix it, interestingly enough on the lag speculation by the devs, I do notice when I have more trouble with my compendium, I tend to have more lag while playing that session.....

Because sharing quests can also bug certain quests quests. (Also, we need that to be fixed too)

Thank you for answering that and +1 you did it diplomatically
Me unless the player accidently steps in and forgets to get the quest (yes late nights some people do ignore the big red letters telling them they are not on the quest) I find sharing does not help a person get to the quest any faster. In fact after the stormcleave fiasco a few days ago where sharing the quest still couldnt get the directionally challenged favored soul to the quest im quite sure that people should learn where the quests givers and entrance the the quest is.
It may save time for some but ive seen that it can still take a long time to get someone who has no clue to a quest.

I suggested before to add a button to refresh the compendium. Then they wouldn't even need to fix the bug itself, just give us the option to refresh/reload it ourselves without logging off (which does not work 100% even if you don't move until everything is fully loaded).

funny enough i never select the quest but always include it in my lfm text. im way to lazy for selecting the name in the quest list.
on the other hand most puggers (at least those you might wanna avoid in your group) don't read the text nor the quest. hell, sometimes they don't even read the levelrange. for each pug i start (not that many though) i have to tell 1 of 3 ppl what powerleveling means when they join a group more or less than 3 levels of the lowest/highest grouplevel.

There was a time before the compendium even existed.
But I agree it is a annoying bug, logging out and back in , in the tavern USUALLY fixes it.

This is the obvious solution

If the quest isn't selected, or if the notes don't match the selected quest, I don't even bother trying to join. It's a great screening tool. :D

I was going to complain about awful spelling of the quest names, but I suppose with the compendium bug thing, remembering the names for a newer player may not be easy, but the LFM I signed up for to run "Gilligan's Stand" was still misleading....
Not one person called me 'little buddy', and I was hoping to see Mary-Anne too!
