For example, does casual difficulty reduce the chance of finding collectibles like orchard sigils or litany tomes?

Do I even need to be on the right part of the quest? (like sometimes how you rerun after finishing Q but WITHOUT talking to end-reward guy)?

Doing something on casual reduces the chances of a special item at the end (litany sigils, vale stones, etc.). I hear its about 50% chance to drop for the vale stones (which are 100% on norm or better).

I haven't personally done a quest on casual yet, so this is all 2nd hand info.

Actually, it's more relevant than that other post, because it is already known that doing higher difficulties does increase the dungeon level (and hence the loot roll). Whether that affects what the OP is asking about (random-drop chest collectables), I don't know.

On a related note, would having a higher loot roll (via higher difficulty, or loot gem) increase the probability of random-drop chest collectables, or named items for that matter?

Running a level 15 quest on Casual difficulty puts it at level 14, meaning the loot table drops by 1, which reduces your chances of pulling rare items, and reduces the overall loot value.

I don't know if anyone has tested running casual with a loot gem going, which should technically put you back at the level 15 loot table.

If i recall, one of the Turbine staff have said, or at least hinted at, that Yes Difficulty does effect the chance for some named items to be found inside chests. I have no idea where the source for that is though, sorry.

and just an assumption, but since quest difficulty changes the quest level, the chest level should then also change effecting the possible loot. (thats not to say that it still can't be a box of rocks)

Altho it may reduce ur chances of items in some quests, don't forget a lot of it is just pure dumb luck.

I have started running casual out in Amarath to get my boot ingredients as it is hard to find a lot of groups to do these quests on Orien.

In six runs of Sins I pulled my Devils Keepsake. In one single run of Weapons Shipment I pulled Pure Shavarath Iron. In one single run of Ghosts of Perdition I pulled the Bow of Elements (Ice) snd the sigil piece that drops only in Ghosts. All of this was done on casual. So altho ur chances may decrease, when it comes to luck...quite frankly.....when ur hot ur hot.

There are also some quest flagging items this does not apply to, like the SoS pre-reqs will always have the essences in the end chest that u need to flag for that quest. GH relics tho will not always drop in end chests....tho that is not a big deal as they drop in all explorer chests now.

And casual also does not effect ur end reward at all that u get from the quest giver.
