I have posted one thread about this but it turns out I need mote help then I thought. My computer just sucks and trying to film on it is just horrible. JacquesI started a YouTube page in hope of collecting videos of quest guides people showing how different builds and playstyles are like in quests, cool tips and tricks, pvp filming, just random filming, and funny videos. I wanted one place where a new or old player could go and see a quest they have never run or see a build they were hoping to try or just something to do in down time. I am going to start working on dreamweaver to make a site where eventually I could get a more oginized and official site. This would also enable a place where the video could be talked about in a manner where you aren't just flaming YouTube commets haha. If anyone would like to help aquire videos and film videos for YouTube.com/theDDOtube please message me on here and
we can see what you have.
The parameters of the videos going up i would like done like this to make them not only informative to watch but not boring so people keep watching them.
•Put your server
•Give credit to all in the video unless they asked otherwise
•If it is a tutorial of a build/quest ect please use text instead of a voice over so people with broken speakers can still see the guide
•Please put some type of music to make the video enjoyable(clean version if possible due to children, not a huge deal though)
•Please put the song name and artist
•Make title of video an easy description ex: The Thirteen Eclispe(Shroud) quest guide. Add a x/x if
more then one video
•Please ask everyone in your group or film if they would like to have their name shown.
I know it's kinda picky but it will cause less people complaining videos being removed while still letting the video be fun to
watch and listen to.
If anyone would like to help please start filming and message me and we can up load your videos

Hi Bbrik,
If your really interested in setting up a Youtube clone dedicated to DDO I commend your efforts. The actual site itself is very easy to set up as far as the php scripting.
Currently i host two youtube clones. Energetictube.com - Where technology goes LIVE! (http://www.modvid.com) and ETaffairs.com - Your portal here on earth. (http://www.etaffairs.com)
Energetictube.com is a youtube clone that uses a brand new version of Vidiscript 1.01 which has just gone open source. ETaffairs.com uses phpmotion 3.0. Both have pros and cons but are very good scripts. There are also others such as Clipbucket that i have not used. These two sites are good examples of the latest open source scripts that are available.
I would recommend starting by going to a web host such as Cirtex hosting (http://www.CirtexHosting.com) or Vidiscript (http://www.vidiscript.com) who have high bandwidth hosting on servers and hubs that are optimized for video hosting. They are very competitive and not as expensive as you might think. Cirtexhosting has a user Cpanel that offers the auto install of phpmotion, vidiscript or clipbucket, however they are not necessarily the latest versions that are auto installed. Vidiscript is very much involved in helping deploy their latest 1.01 script.
I wish i could offer more help to your project, however i am currently struggling to make time for projects of my own as of late. I hope you find some of this useful.
Good luck.
If you build your site Zoid will be there. :)

haha thank you very much. I will start it wiht youtube and work on a dreamweaver version since i know how to use that and get a feel for what i would like a site to look like. Being 16 time is strapped but i will find time to game like the nerd i am and compile as many videos as i can and hopefully get every quest into video form

i have fraps and want to do something but when I play it back it looks choppy.
However, I hear rendering it in a different format makes this choppiness go away as it is due to the media player viewing it and the raw format it is recorded in.
in this true?
Otherwise, no way I could do one.

There's an option in FRAPS to capture video half-size. Your issue is probably a matter of crunching all that data while recording, using up too many resources. Since it's grabbing the video as an .avi file, halving it will use up far less memory and processor stuff.

that did seem to help a bit. I wonder if it is a matter of an increase in my ram for my vid card? I got 4 gig on board the comp and a 3 ghz chip...and nothing much else running.
Ill play with it. Thanks.

Seems like it should be plenty fast enough! I use an AMD quad core and 4 gigs of RAM, 512 mb video card. Works great!
Another thing you can do (although it'll be kind of a pain) is to change the resolution you play DDO on when it comes time to record. Yeah, you'll have to redo hot bars and the like, but lowering the screen resolution will speed things up as well.

single core.....built in early 2004....so, cpu cycles may be the thing...
just the half size looks so blurry on the text and stuff
