The questions was simple. What weapons will you be using. Not sure how that adds up to interrogation. But I guess since you didnt have all the information its reasonable for you to assume the question was instead a berating onslaught of questions that werent necessary.

Yes the question was necessary, no his answer didnt include anything such as, cash's did, thats why cash was accepted and he was declined. Pretty straight forward really. What I can live without is the string of tells telling me how much I suck, the things the guy wishes about me, blah blah blah. Grow a set when you get declined.


As a side note, if the guy would have just told me what weapons he was using, with out being a prick, i prollly would have taken him over cash as he hit the lfm first.

Don't assume what I said was a dig. I dont even PUG raids or high end groups any more because of this. After one tell of how much I suck for not inviting PUGers I usually /ignore. Not even worth justifying your reasons to a spaz, who is just waiting for another time to spaz out and pike the group...this is where griefing begins, after you mitigate a potential dispute, only to have the person try some revenge and jump in early to part 5 before everyone is ready.

On the other hand, the question may or may not be necessary, which is an obvious matter of opinion...however, I myself have ended up in too many scraps when the self supposed know it all VET gets their answer, then tries to argue that a 2 handed flametouched transmuter of GEOB doesnt cover the DR types needed...Its almost more funny when this selective grouping backfires and our group completes in time to see their group recovering from a wipe on top of meridia.

Bottom line, it takes me longer to put together my groups, and less time to complete.

Yeah, vetting people can be entertaining. I wouldn't put much though into a veteran player getting tissy. There are plenty of vets out there that aren't worth having. Worse are the ones that can't take direction. I can take a group of decently equipped newbs through a raid just fine, as long as they can handle direction. A vet that wants to do things their way can cause a very frustrating run or a wipe.

As you can see a simple question can often help you spot that problem player. Better yet, you can put him on your "friends" list, and know for the future. I've had people that have given me an armload of **** for not letting them in our booting them out once I found something out. Then time goes by, raids on the board go by. Next week its like, "Oh man I'm sorry about that. I was just upset..."

I'm like, "Sorry, you were an @ss last week, I think you still are." One guy I did let back into my raids, but not the first four times he asked...

No greensteel to reduce lag. Not an experiment. We tested back in mod 8 with our elite shroud speed runs.

Not noticed or as crippling on normal because the pt 2 boss goes down so quick. On elite the time to take him down is lengthened considerably, more shadows spawn, lag continues to get worse as clients cant keep up with weapon procs. Usually at some point the kiter goes down through no fault of his own, or if it is his fault there is less forgiveness due to lag.

Hence a long time vet who I assumed would be using gs was questioned as to what kind of weapons he was using.

Have you tested turning off combat log? That helps a ton in ToD

bah. we're not uber, it has to do with all the twf gs procs. But im sure some of that is part of the problem.

on most of the elite runs ive done in part 2 we dont have everyone beat on the boss. we end up having 1-3 twf'ers jsut pike so the lag isnt overwhelming. you might try that.

yeah that was the next step. It was a little more manageable last night, but not great. Ill prolly see if anyone has a 2 hander to pull out and get a couple people to go that route.

As a conniseur of lag in all its shapes and forms (like the eskimos and snow, i have a large vocabulary to describe the beast), I think that the holy/silver and trans/PG made a substantial difference last night, as it seemed to a while back when we did it in part 4 of shroud.

I do know for sure it used to slow down, but did you test it after that change to make sure it still generates more lag?
