Ok I've been chuckling over something all evening thats probably only funny because of the bottle in front of me, but we were blasting through Gianthold walkups when halfway through Cabal the Sorc goes:
"Man, thats working good. I think Maximized, Empowered Web is my new favorite spell."
I lol'd.
I didn't have the heart to have an ensuing conversation, so his bubble remains unpopped.

Not on Argo, but still...
Ironically, Cabal too on normal, on my 10Wiz/2Rog. We were waiting for the group to fill up. I suggested more melee dps as the party was composed of myself, an fvs, a battle cleric, a sorc, and a monk. Party leader (also a guild leader) says "we still need a trap guy, you're just a lvl2 rogue, you can't do the traps here so stick to casting firewalls". Lucky the "rogue" he picked up was a ranger/rogue dps build, so I got my wish anyway, and he let me do the traps ^^

Only more audible and frequent the closer you get to the bottom.... ;)

Always fun pugging GH WUs with your funky monky, Cleav. ... wait that sounded very ... and completely .... hetero. Sigh.
Edit: Earlier I saw a sorc spending about 300SP on the bugged mummy in WizKing. In spite of us telling him to save mana for the big fights.

(Advice): Gravvin: lol and it takes them twice as long to kill stuf and then they all run outta sp and die
(Advice): Zephrone: note to everyone battle clerics are stupid become a paladin
(Advice): Gravvin: anyone wanting to be battlce cleric be a bard or pally pretty much
(General): Grandpaa: I don't allow battle clerics in my groups much better fighter type dps builds out there
(Advice): Corde: if you want to do dps make a **** ranger or wizard
(General): Deebow: thing is if you are a cleric you are expected to heal
(General): Rhodaan : If you get bored while healing ask the rogue to tank..

Part 1: Wow, we have really good DPS.

Was running DQ with 4 other guildies. We take 1 pug in with us. As we get sick of waiting,
Me: Screw it, we are just gonna go with 6, im not waiting another 5 minutes for just 1 person.
Pugger: You need 12 people, how can you shortman a raid?
my guildy : Uh, because we can?
----------------------------------
We all had a good laugh at him thinking you need a full raid group for dq, needless to say, he expressed doubt as we entered, as we hit the shrine, and pretty much up until she died. Thats when he ooe'd and ahh'd. Once again, we had a good laugh.

Not Argo but I loved this one:
In the Orchard TAP farming and on my caster, the rest of the party is DPS save the Star who is a cleric. I am watching the fighters get stomped and not getting healed. I ask one of the fighters point blank: "Is this guy healing anyone?" and get no response. 5 seconds later the cleric responds with "It's a PUG, I am farming TAPS and if you want healing, buy a pot because I am not wasting mana to heal anyone" At which point I stopped casting walls of fire, haste, and greater heroism. The cleric dies 4 times during the first run (I guess he was not healing himself either) and then when the party reformed he refused to take my request because I was "Not a team player"

In party chat:
ranger1: That rogue you just invited sucks. I've grouped with him and he says he is built for dps not traps
me: good, sounds like he's built right
ranger1: what's the point of a rogue who isn't a trap monkey? Besides we don't need a rogue, no traps in this quest.
me: any rogue can do traps, we want someone that can kill things
<15 minutes into quest... ranger 1 never seems to top himself up between fights, asked others for resists when he had acid on him>
me: ranger1, why aren't you topping yourself up between battles?
ranger1: I'm not a cleric, why should I heal?
me: because I'm an offensive FvS, as you can tell by me leading the kill count while keeping you all alive and thus I'm using wands to top up between battles
ranger1: so top me up
me: Do you have a wand?
ranger1: no
<opens trade window, gives him 3, he closes window, doesn't take>
ranger1: ranges can't use wands
<next battle starts... guess who doesn't get healed>

We had a pug in a hard shroud that was crafting between rounds last night. We called him out on it, but only got "Lag" from him in party chat. Coincidentally lagging right next to altars I guess. We almost finished part 2 before he joined us in there.

Ran wiz king Friday night, had a few guildies and a few spots open, so we pugged it. Took forever to find a caster, so when one finally joined, we jumped right in.
Soon as everyone was there, I (cleric) started passing out buffs and doing masses. One of the melee's asked for a blur, and the caster says "I don't buff."
We were all silent for a moment, then I asked why not.
He says "I am a Pale Master, and I am cold specced, so I only cast cold spells."
by the first big room, he was out of SP from all his frost lances and cones of cold on individual mummies and skellies.
He did cast 3 firewalls during the course of the quest, and was actually offended when we asked if he had enough Int to open the doors.. he responded "I'm not a noob, I have a level 18 cleric."
It was the subject of much laughter for the rest of the weekend.
The next day, joined a shroud pug and the first thing we hear as we go in is "I just wanna say I am a horrible healer and haven't played this toon in about a year, so don't expect much." That was from the one cleric in the group (we had a fvs with us too). Part 4 was over in about 2 minutes - as a melee, I never received a single point of healing.. made it almost 30 seconds toe to toe with harry before dropping.. I was even incapped for about a 5 count. I guess I should have asked the rogue to heal..

Mmmmm....
Shrouds can truly be a source of FUN! :p
Human Wizard is running around part one, clearing the portals... with a Great Sword and Power Word: Stun. :o There was a few more *face-palm* moments with this.. um.. gentleman, so needless to say, on the next Shroud farm run, the leader put up the LFM with the tag "No Greatsword Wielding Wizards Allowed"
Ironically, it does seem high level wizards are a everlasting supply of little (OMG) quotes...
PuG Farming the various Reaver's Refuge quests, and the level 16 wizard said not once, not twice, but multiple times with heavy pride and amazement in his voice...
"Drag them into the firewall!! Its doing like 70 points a damage!"
No one ever said anything to him... and the melee just kept dropping the mobs where they stood.

Ummm, you do know that 2hander weapons do the most damage in the hands of a wizard right? The wizard was actual making the best contribution to portal dps he could. As to power word stun, it could have been grease or sleet storm, in fact it should have been. lol it always makes me laugh when someone "outs" a noob and demonstrates their own lack of game knowledge
The barb that talks about how much damage they did, do, or will do.
Especially the end game talkers....Had one this weekend that got DAS BOOT.
Talking about how he would do 1600 pt crits at end game.
Never mind that he died on the very first encounter (bugbears, von1, yes those at the very first encounter).
Then again in Von2...even after was told to just sit still and not die.
Then came the boot. His buddy (healer) left nicely afterwords. I get the impression he was ashamed of his buddy. He was fine..his friend...not at all..but sure like to claim he could play.
Anyways we finished 3/4 without a healer and redid them on hard without more drama...well except for DD's and grease greefing.

Yep...
Just like the one hit wonder I tried to 3 man DQ1 with. He had no idea apparently that he could maximize, empower, heighten, extend spells. He also knew nothing about spell pen, lore items, or potency. He was bragging that he was doing 9 points of damage to her with his FW. This was roughly 3 seconds before he was overrun and blendered....
Oh, and he was level 14. I wondered how he got that far.

Shroud run Part 4. Group is trying to do it in 1 round, Pit Fiend has 1/2 hp left and I look up and
notice that casters have 3/4 of their mana left.
So I say "Casters dump your mana".
One of the pug casters pipes up and says..."I am casting Magic Missile as fast as I can".
Another party member and said caster so going back and forth in voice chat into part 5.
The caster then says to the other party member "Shut up, I know how my character is built and how to play him".
I about fell out of my chair laughing so hard.
It was quite after that only because the other party member knew it was hopeless.

You know, that while not even close to polar ray or CoC damage, MM and force missiles are very cost effictive ways to gnaw at Arri -- more so if they are force spec'd + major kinetic lore. I have PR, CoC and MM as my one-two-three combo against Arri. Now, if it was MM only it could take a while :D

not on Argo but...
You knowthe "joke" you pull on part 4? THe one you say that an extra chest will drop if you hit the center ofthe portal?
Make sure you to explain itwas a joke, and remember to use small words.
THis was over a year ago.
LEADER: ok, time to kick Harry's butt again. Anyone new to the quest?
no answers.
LEADER: who has donethis the least amount of times?
after a few moments of silence, someone asks why isthat relative.
LEADER: Because noobs, you need a new person to the shroud to get the extra chest.
silence...then LoLs and actual laughter on teamspeak.
ME: Uhhh...that's a joke. It's to get a laugh and to pretend to get angry when everyone dies. Didn't you know that?
LEADER: What the F*($ are you talking about? I have donethis quest like 40 times! I know whatI am talking about!
ME: oookkaayyy. I'm ok skipping the "chest", every else ok with it?
chorus of okays.
LEADER: I'm the leader and I am going to do this! Now, again...<<ding! dead>> @#@#@!#@#$&*%%!!!!!!!11!! WHO IN THE F*C# WAS THAT??? <<then Rage quits>>
We completed. Laughing and a bit concerned. Apparently, someone in the leader's past didn't use small enough words was general agreement.
Funny, I never saw him again in the PuG Shroud groups.

When I came back to the game a month ago I was lvling a new cleric in WW running with some old-timers. We filled the party with a couple of pugs, said we'd be zerging the dungeon on elite and be moving very fast. Everyone was okay with it, or so we thought. We zone in and take off first part. We hear from "Idiot" Are we doing the optionals, there's good XP in those optionals. I think we should do them." I say we're skipping the optionals, we're trying to go fast and finish everything quickly. We go to get the key and the Idiot stands still and doesn't answer. We head off and two minutes later the Idiot takes off a different direction. I see his health dropping fast and the following conversation ensues.
Idiot: "All of this stuff has respawned over here, why didn't you wait for me?"
Party Leader: "Things don't respawn in here, we haven't gone that way yet, we went to get the key first."
Idiot: "It has respawned, I'm getting killed by it right now!"
Pug Leader: "Open the door and get in the shrine, we'll get there in a second, we're on our way."
Idiot: *grumble grumble* /ding
Idiot: "If ya'll aren't going to run this quest right, I'm going to quit right now! This isn't how you do it, you didn't even do the spider optional...yammer yammer yammer... This is my second charater, I've ran this at least twice and this isn't how you do it!"
Party Leader: "Dude, this is my 16th character. I've been on since release and have at least 4 or 5 capped toons. I think I know what I'm doing, and obviously everyone else in here is following and not having a probelm."
Idiot: "Well, I don't know how you capped when you can't even run WW."
Party Leader: "Whatever dude. Must suck not to be needed." Kicks the guy
Rest of party: Laughing and cutting up, including the other 2 pugs.

This is something that has puzzled me since I started playing my ranger a few years back. I used to see this all the time, it sorta went away but sounds like its coming back .. maybe with all the new players .. which leads me back to asking where it comes from?
Again, not having played other MMOs but having extensive experience with D&D since 1980, I wonder if the "Ranger" in other games is really so very different?
A couple years ago my ranger got that belt out of VON 6 - and wow .. one person had a verbal hissy fit because "Rangers don't need strength and fortification!!!!!"
I've only guessed that these people really have no idea that Rangers are a subclass of Fighter .. which maybe they aren't elsewhere? Any ideas?

(General): [<Player>] i got a leet 80 on wow so i kinda know some stuff
Now that there is a real gem.
Best I've seen was in DQ--a guildy and I were doing the DQ1/2 run and we figured, what the heck, let's throw up the lfm and get a better shot at some loot actually dropping.
So we do.
The bad news was we only got 1 person to join (slow day I guess). The good news--if you can call it that--was the amount of entertainment he provided. When he joined, we were at the end of the flagging run. We asked if he knew the way out to DQ1. He said "Yeah, this is my second level 20 guy, so I think I know my way around the desert."
As I'm sure you can all guess, he got lost. After about 10 minutes, my guildy finally went out to get him. Eventually we get him in and complete DQ1.
Then comes the kicker--we say we're going to head on in to the raid on elite and the fighter says "Yeah, we've got a couple healers (us) and a good tank (him?), I guess we should be able to do this, right?"
He sat in the corner (without shield blocking) the whole time, and didn't even move when the DQ came and started wailing on him (amazingly, he did have enough hp not to die instantly). The one time he did move was to dodge a blade barrier. He ran straight off the edge.
Well, I guess it worked....

Ah, I've got a similar one to that...
On my TR FvS. LFM is for cleric or bard or pali, comment "need healer". I figure what the heck, I can heal fine while killing stuff, so I hit the LFM. I get a tell back "sorry, we need a healer, FvS can't heal".

Great Thread!
Like the rest of us, I'm perfect, I was a pro on my very first day and never made any silly mistakes. If only that other riff raff was as perfect as the rest of us.
Nah we all made Silly Mistakes. However, pointing out other peoples silly mistakes is a great source of entertainment.
Now newer players getting Butt Hurt over their mistakes, or even better, other peoples mistakes that are pointed out in a nice funny thread, thats even more entertaining.
Thank you.

Gianthold Tor.
We're explaining things to a Ranger who has been out of game for a year and is a bit rusty on strategy.
I go to get aggro on the White dragon to bring it back to the arcane and he's kiting it around with his bow, making it impossible for me to hit.
For a few minutes I give him the benefit of the doubt...until he keeps shouting into his mic:
"Manyshot on the Dragon! Manyshot on the Dragon! I'm Manyshotting the Dragon!!!"
(Cool story, bro)
I ask him if he could switch to melee to help me get the dragon over to the pillars...
Response?
"Can't help you there. I suck at Melee, so I only have bows."
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

Hmmmm how does that make him/her a n00b? A dex-based, bow-spec'd ranger will probably suck (relatively speaking) at melee and most likely he/she won't be carrying any melee weapons worth their salt.

I'd take a Tempest who can pull out a bow when the situation calls for it over an archer build that doesn't carry a single melee weapon. Any archer build that can't hit stuff in melee just plan fails, with no exceptions.
Anyway, not on Argo, but on Cannith...
This morning, I logged onto my Monk, and decide I'll do a pug. I join a WW group, and the leader keeps saying things like this:
"Wait outside for your yellow bar to heal! No one go in 'till the Monk's yellow bar is full!"
"We can't complete this without a rogue! There are too many traps in here! Let's wait 'till we get a rogue!"
"Monk, why aren't you healing us???" "I'm Dark path." "Only fail Monks are Dark path!"
Eventually he rage-quit when we didn't dungeon crawl through all of WW like he wanted us to.
Also whenever I join groups on my FvS, I almost always hear this right after joining:
"Ok, now we just need a healer and we're set!"

Never said they were a n00b because of using ranged.
Just that there are times and places for kiting mobs with a bow.
When someone tells you that one specific person is trying to grab aggro, you don't kite the mob around so said designated person can't hit it to get aggro and then proceed to drag the mob around the room. Doubly so when you're trying to do a timed kill like you have to do with the dragons in Tor and you're dragging the mob anywhere but what was agreed upon before going in.

i know this wasn't on argo but i got to share it.
i was on my newly made bard when i saw a LFM saying "walk the butchers path need guide" so i join.
the leader says to me "you have done this before right?"
me "yep"
leader "anything i need to know?" (one of the best things i have ever seen a newbie say)
me "well there is this one chest that is trapped with an ambush so don't open any chest unless i give the say so. the ambush is not that bad but it can be really nasty if you get cut off from the rest of the party"
leader "i just wont open any chests"
fast forward into the quest.
we get to the part with the trapped chest and the ranger in the group (not the leader) runs to the trapped chest and I'm thinking "NO!" and run after her to save her but. she opens the chest and now I'm trapped with her and cut off from the rest of the party.
now I'm trapped in the caged off room with a ranger that is for some reason is using a great axe (the fiery one from Korthos) and I'm thinking "I'm gonna die" and start spamming charm because I'm out of songs.
she yells at me "stop casting charm! its annoying!"
i say "I'm sorry for trying to use some cc to save my life!"
her "noob. charm isn't CC, AOE is CC, your just making them stand there!"
so some arguing about what crowd control is, some "i can solo this", and other unpleasantness later and we decide to go in on hard.
so in hard im I'm bringing her stone back to the shrine for the second time and i say "what happened to "i can solo this"?"
had another good one today:

This was yesterday, my first time doing ADQ. The group had too much melee and no caster... I didn't know how bad that was at the time. So we blew it and one of the melee guys and the cleric dropped.
So yet another melee (fighter/ranger/monk) and a cleric joins. The melee claims these two just two-manned the queen because she couldn't hurt him when his Docent of Defiance procs. In fact, our group was supposed to join their group for the raid afterwards, but for some reason everybody else in ther group dropped...
So Melee wants Cleric to only heal him while he tanks. We go in, Melee starts getting creamed, Cleric cast a heal on him. Queen turned on Cleric, Cleric went *ding.* Queen goes back to having her way with Melee, Melee goes *ding.* Followed by rest of party going *ding.*
Melee blames the rest of us for taking "his" aggro away everytime the DoD procs so he couldn't hit her.
Meanwhile, Cleric is berating us for having no caster! But didn't they just...?
We get ready to give it another try, but this time Melee's idea is for only him and Cleric to go in so no one else can steal his aggro. So the rest of us wait outside. Watch Melee's red bar fall, watch Cleric's blue bar go down a bit. Hear Cleric go *ding.* Hear Melee go *ding.* Hear Melee say "I don't know why she went for you."
Cleric is raving about how she can't be tanked and this is stupid with no caster. But didn't they just...?
One more try, and the other 4 of us are pretty PO'd at this point and we just want to get it over. At Melee's request we just stood there so he could have all the aggro. Soon as Cleric cast first heal, Queen kills Cleric. Queen kills Melee. Queen kills party.
So I send a tell to the party leader: "how much more of this we going to put up with?"
Party leader to me: "We're done. I just asked the cleric how they two-manned the queen and he said they didn't. They had a caster come in just for the last fight and bail them out!"

Just ran the Crucible on my Paladin (still Cannith).
At the part with the underwater traps, the Ranger goes in since he has Evasion.
Makes it to the first trap, then dies.
So the Rogue goes in, makes it past the traps, but dies trying to get the horn.
Then the pure Fighter, before anyone else can say anything, jumps into the water shouting, "I'll save you guys!", into the mic.
Three seconds later we hear a ding.

While this is funny, I have to point out:
It is entirely possible to get a Badass Intimitank with lots of DR(Read: Stoli or Draugr) to tank the queen for you. These gentlemen will plant her in the middle and make her stationary allowing the Melees to beat on her behind much more safely.
Also, its fun to watch.

I figured it might be, but this guy was either not using Intim or just failing. Actually, anybody doing any healing drew the aggro faster than Melee did. Everytime I whipped out a wand she made a bee-line right for me. :(
As for the clerics, the first one admitted (AFTER we were in the Queen's chamber and the gate was closed) that he wasn't packing BB.
The second cleric was going to lay down some BBs but instead he listened to Melee's infinite wisdom when he said the Queen wouldn't be moving so the BBs were a waste of mana...

Not to be a prick but, this isn't WoW. healing draws no agro in this game. More than likely she was simply bouncing between the targets in the room. She sometimes get confused and just sits there, sometimes she goes from person to person rending them asunder. Intimdate is pretty much the only way to stick her in place. Or really good agro bouncing from two people are opposite ends of the circle.

This isnt exactly a quote but I did Xorian Cypher last night and we had a ranger in the group throwing shurikens the whole time, when you get to that part, stuck in the room, while someone is working the puzzles, you know the place. My rogue was killing skeletons and having troubles as rogues arent great VS undead, I had to say, maybe shurikens wont work so well in this area so he pulled out a holy greatsword, but only for that one fight.

I was in a Tempest Spine pug the other day and someone decided to pass the time while we waited for the group to fill out to share his DDO knowledge. Rangers shouldnt melee, they should only use bows for the awesome dps. Rogues should only do traps and stay out of combat because their dps is terrible.
On second thought, maybe we were getting trolled. Id swear this guy was serious, and it WAS a TS pug, after all.

We had a pug in a hard shroud that was crafting between rounds last night. We called him out on it, but only got "Lag" from him in party chat. Coincidentally lagging right next to altars I guess. We almost finished part 2 before he joined us in there.
OK first thing I must admit I have NEVER run the shroud before so i'm just basing this off what I've heard but isn't the point of the shroud to create greensteel items.
Note: Not trying to be rude/insulting I'm honestly asking. I'm just barely high enough to do Tempest's spine

After the shroud is complete you can take portals from the last room back to the crafting devices to craft your stuff after you finish if you plan on completing.

There are three crafting altars which are accessible either during the quest or once it has been successfully completed. The generally accepted polite thing to do is to craft once the quest is complete.

2wiz/2sorc tries to join my group and I decline him...he asks why...I explain the reason not to multiclass sorc to wiz or vise versa...he claims its gives him double sp from items (which i explain how only a pure sorc would get 100% more while if he went 18/2 wiz/sorc it would only be 10% increase as IIRC for every level you take in another class the bonus to items is reduced by 5%) and allows him to cast ALL his spells faster as well as switch ALL his spells on the fly....than I try to explain how those abilities only apply to the spells for each class. Than he called me a noob and a liar so I just sorry I was trying to help and he started telling people in advice how dumb I was and what I said...it was really funny when people agreed with me.
After that he accused me of paying those people to say that or being logged onto multiple characters (which IIRC it is possible if you have a beastly computer and some technical know-how)
Anyways I was still waiting for my friend to log on (went for food) so I figured I'd check his stats...they were 14 Str 14 Int and 18 Wis...this was getting ridiculous so I asked him why his cha was 8 and what he put points in wisdom for...he said sorcerors main stat is wisdom..I said no its Charisma...once again he called me a liar and he told community how dumb I was and got angry again when they agreed.
Then he said he reported me was gonna report me and than I'm pretty sure he squelched/was ignoring me because when I told him how he could access the compendium and forums in-game for more info about sorcerers and wizards by pressing the world icon he didn't respond.
There wouldn't be so many mess-ups if people would just listen to advice and morons would stop giving out false advice that causes people to start ignoring advice :P

OMG that is too funny!!

Okay, so waiting to run WW on elite... right now actually and this is what I just heard
Person 1. How long are we going to wait for a rogue?
Person 2. Not long. We'll get going soon. It would be nice but we will be fine without.
Person 3. Uh, obviously you people do not have any toon past lvl 4 because if you did then you would know that every group NEEDS a rogue in this game. (so not kidding).
Person 4. Yeah, a rogue is would be nice but its okay.. I'm a human fighter and they are really great for WW because they are so versatile and stuff. Yeah, I spot every trap but I can't disable because I'm a fighter but I'm versatile and stuff... so we should be really good for WW.
Christ in heaven am I f'ing miserable right now.

Here's one I remember:
Long time ago, a few of us set to do deleras on our lowbies. We get our house P buffs, and step into deleras part 1, and a few seconds later a pugger (Player X) hops in. Someone mentioned something about house P buffs as we head off, skipping the bridge b/c we have the jump buff from house P.
When someone mentioned house P buffs, the pugger, in a proud voice, said "I'll show you how to run this without house P buffs." A couple seconds later *ding, Player X has died. He died at the first skeletons trying to hit the lever to get the bridge, as he didn't have jump from house P to simply skip it. And then a few seconds later, Player X has left your party.

When leveling my exploiter build TR, around 10th level I believe, I tried to join a group that was looking for a bunch of classes, including ranger, rogue and monk.
The group leader declined me and I sent him a /tell saying "If you don't want a ranger, monk or rogue, you should remove them from your LFM so the wrong people don't try to join."
His response "I want those classes, just not someone trying to be all three at the same time."
LFM for The enemy within on elite (you know, with all the frost undead), taking lvls 11-15.
The party leader was a lvl 12 fighter, the others in the group a paladin, a monk and a wizard 6/monk 5.
I'm playing my wizard 13/rogue 2 and want to join the group.
A few minutes go by, when i get a tell back "Sorry we already have a wizard".
I sent him a tell back saying it doesn't matter to have double classes in a group and that it might be a good idea to bring a second mage.
Reply back: "No, we need other classes."
Maybe the other wiz didn't want the PL penalty? Just sayin...

A few weeks ago on cannith i joined a PUG to do gwylan's stand.. I was on my lvl 5 ranger / 2 fighter.. I joined the PUG, then went afk bio while party was filling, when i came back i was dropped from the group and in party chat it read - sry drac dropping you as you were the lowest lvl..
I then send a tell:
Me: why did you kick me?
Cleric leader: You were the lowest lvl.
Me: Im lvl 7 as you are..
Cleric: yes but you are not pure, now i have lvl 7 monk, lvl 7 wizard, lvl 7 palla, lvl 7 rogue..
Me: Oki but just cause im multiclassed dosent mean i suck, i might be as good as the other pure ones.
Cleric took me back, and boy was i right.. group died 53 times, i died 3 times, monk had 65 HP, paladin killed one, then left.. And i was there till the end.. DOH!

I'm puging elite WW on my lowbie bard/rogue. I have a bad feeling about the Wizard in their right away when he starts complaining about his spell point pool. He had some choice quotes but I think my favourites were:
Wiz: bards and rogues can do traps.
Me: lol no a bard can only do traps if it has a rogue splash like me.
Wiz: Yes they can, it's just a cross class skill.
But the best was when the pally looted some lame low level spell penetration scepter or something:
Wiz: Nice scepter!
Wiz: Can I have that scepter J---?
Wiz: I WANT THAT SCEPTER
Wiz: I WANT THAT SCEPTER
Wiz: I WANT THAT SCEPTER
Me: And I want you to shut up.

Barb in WW: "this dog has crazy az!!! help me guys!!!"
Wizard: "It's my summon dude"
May the melee who hasn't attacked a summoned pet cast the first stone... Summoned Arcane Skellies still freak me out I see that green aura and I have a visceral instinct to immediately attack.

Anyone who has not done this multiple times is not a worthy player. Using the green aura is a clear sin by the Devs.

So I am still leveling Brassmonkky, that funk monky. I joined a group for A New Invasion. I'm the second one to join the group. Zone from meridia to the twelve, get up and grab a drink, answer the phone. back in like, three minutes. group has five people now, not bad.
We fill and head into the quest, and clear a large part of the first floor looking for the drop down and hunting for chests. Not having too hard a time. I find my way back to the big statue at the beginning and say into voice: "Afk a couple minutes, if anyone finds a Shintao cord, pass that **** here"
Group leader immediately in party chat:
Leader: Brass.
Leader: ***
Obviously I am intrigued.
I ask him what the problem is.
Leader: Dude i accepted you and you went afk, and now you afking in quest. ********.
I proceed to inform him in slightly graphic terms that I was going to go take a dukem and my computer chair just doesn't seem the proper place.
Leader: You can't play the game from the toilet, noob.
Then I was simply done and told him to recall and reform if he had a problem. That ended the exchange pretty well, because I went to take a **** and rejoined the rest of the party without the leader afterwards.
Elite Bastion
Level 18 pugger joins the group without even saying "Hello!" asks:
- How can I get to the quest?

I like to bash newbies as much as any veteran. However, in this thread I've seen many when someone's been labeled as a newb just for not conforming with the very rigid expectations. In the above case, however, it might well have been a kid or a very immature person -- which btw this game had plenty of much before EU was released. And unless you are a very patient person, it sucks grouping with them. They make silly mistakes, they are loud, they can be disruptive, etc.
Asking for a piece of equipment repeatedly does not make anyone a n00b, IMO. Annoying, sure. But nothing n00b about it.

Well he did other noobish things, but I never called him a noob. This is a thread about memorable quotes not about whether they were noobs or not. Annoying stands out a lot to me, more than being a noob because that can be changed ;)

I didn't say who the barb was now, did I... :p
Anyway, saw a thing during the weekend in the Trade channel. Not a pug, but made me smirk, even though it was a little nasty:
"Person1": WTS +1 intilgence tomb
"Person2 ": Think you should use it yourself pal

Against my better judgment I get a group going for stk - hard.
Things are going pretty poorly, as expected. At the part in part 2, where you have the large elemental near the river key chest, the pure bard starts to run down there while the other party members are off doing god knows what. I tell him wait for the party with me, because death lies that way. He runs down there, anyways,(its a pug why wouldnt he?) gets all the aggro, and start running back. Luckily, the party had finally regrouped on me, and we start heading down there. We kill his mess, and he has the audacity to say "And you were saying?". Right, you just soloed it didn't you.
Of course, its a pug, so the story doesn't end there. We start doing part 3. The bard runs off as usual. Another guy follows him. I start doing the quest, and the rest follow me. The bard dies, of course. Starts yelling at us over his mic, where are we and why did we spilt up. I tell him we are doing the quest. He then yells at me about how many times he has done STK. Really? Why were you over there getting killed, and we are already at the fire traps? The guy following him says(we had words before because he kept running off by himself dying), I thought we were suppose to follow the bard. I say its customary, and respectful to follow the leader. Of course, he has a snide remark about that.
I just don't get why PUGing is so hard a concept. Don't run off unless you're a badass. If you die, because you ran off have the decency to say "My bad. I thought I was a badass, but I'm actually just full of fail." Don't expect me to come get you, because I won't. Stick with the leader if you don't know the quest! Don't blame others when you die, because you "thought" you knew what you were doing.

A couple of classics from Sarlona Korthos this morning.
A new player asked why they couldn't cast any of their Sorceror spells. When asked what their Charisma was they replied 10. Unfortunately that wasn't the worst part. After being told to reroll 3 other players then suggested he could try to melee his way to level 4 and then raise his Charisma to 11 at level up so he could cast lvl 1 spells. After being told the importance of the stat to his class he went off to reroll.
2 minutes later a player complained about playing rogues as everyone just ran through the traps anyway. A nominee for King of Korthos jumps in to say you needed to be a pure Rogue with 18 INT to do traps after level 4 anyway.
Ahh the joys of the 100 point favour grind.
And you wonder why new players end up wtih dodgy builds.
