Can you summon more than one of the same hireling from the DDO Store into a quest?

Yes, and you don't have to do it at the beginning either.

So I finally got around to doing this. Soloing Tomb of the Burning Heart, I picked up
a hireling from the marketplace, and two (the same) of the cheapest 1st level
hirelings I could get from the DDO store (they were 5 points each, sweet!).

I summon the Marketplace hireling, he appears. I summon the first Store hireling, she
appears, then I go to summon the second Store hireling, and a warning box pops up
that says "So-and-so is already in your Party". So I tried it again, just to be sure,
and get the same warning. Bummer. :( So, I bought the next cheapest hireling with
a different name from the store (for 8 points), and that worked, and I completed
the quest just fine.

But just for the record, it appears that you *can't* have more than one of a
particular hireling in the party. Not sure if this is a change, but there it is.

No, they have to be different hirelings but you can have more than one hireling in the party if you have gold seal contracts.
