So, found this weapon on the Compendium...what is everyone's thought??

http://compendium.ddo.com/wiki/Weapon:Epic_Oath_of_Droaam

The link will take you too it, but I'll give you a quick breakdown...

Base Damage Rating: 41.40
Damage: (14-58) 4d12 + 10 Slashing, Magic, Adamantine
Critical Roll: (5%/56-232) 20 / x4
Attack Mod: Strength (+4)
Damage Mod: Strength (+4

+10 Enhancement Bonus: This item has been magically enhanced. Armor with this quality gains a +10 enhancement bonus to AC. Weapons with this quality gain a +10 enhancement bonus to attack and damage.

Flaming Burst: This weapon is sheathed in fire. The weapon deals an additional 1d6 fire damage each hit. In addition, critical hits deal an additional 1d10 fire damage for weapons with a x2 critical multiplier, 2d10 for a x3 critical multiplier and 3d10 for a x4 multiplier.

Keen: This ability doubles the threat range of a weapon. This benefit doesn't stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon.

Vorpal: This potent and feared ability allows the weapon to sever the heads of those it strikes. Upon a natural 20 on an attack roll, which is confirmed as a critical hit, the weapon severs the opponent's head from its body. Some creatures, including many aberrations and all oozes, have no heads. Others, such as golems and undead creatures other than vampires, are not affected by the loss of their heads. Most other creatures, however, die when their heads are cut off.

Adamantine: Found only in meteorites and the rarest of veins in magical areas, this ultrahard metal adds to the quality of a weapon or suit of armor. Weapons made of adamantine have the ability to bypass the protective damage reduction of certain monsters.

Incineration: This weapon stores the power of a raging inferno deep within. Occasionally, this destructive power comes to the surface, devastating enemies with massive fire damage.

Lightning Strike: This weapon stores the power of a volatile thunderstorm deep within. Occasionally, this dynamic power comes to the surface, devastating enemies with a massive lightning strike.

Disintegration: This weapon has a dark, insidious power deep within. Occasionally, this power lashes out violently at enemies and attempts to disintegrate them.

Slay Living: This weapon stores a dark and sinister power deep within. When the weapon is used, this power occasionally comes to the surface, attempting to instantly snuff out the life force of the enemy.

So what is everyones consensus on this item? Do you have better? To me, this Great-Axe is AMAZING for a THF FB...

Isn't this the axe at the end of VON 1 that you have to return to finish the quest?

Granted, would be awesome for the last fight, but as far as I know, you cannot leave the instance with it....

Too bad everything at level 20 has dw . . .

@sneakee, no this axe is removable from the quest. The in-quest-only droam from Epic von1 is the same as the droam from casual von1 abilitywise.

Yeah, not sure what the point of drooling over it is...

if you actually manage to get it out of von1 and dont get banned for exploiting then its quite nice, jep

Because clearing trash en route to shavarath quests is the most important thing ingame . . .

It would be useful for raiding in everything but TOD though. Clears trash and is an effective portal beater. Would reduce my weapon sets by 1 at least.

It's a specific quest item. It can't leave the quest, and even in the quest you only have it at the very end.

The axe in Epic Von1 is not an Epic Oath of Droam. It doesn't disintegrate, incinerate, or slay living. They are 2 different weapons.

Note how the axe says "Oath of Droam," and not "Epic Oath of Droam."

That is epic Von1. Therefore the oath of droam must drop from the chest and a quest removable (because it has to be upgraded somehow).

Really silly assumptions.

The most obvious and thus correct answer:

Turbine had monkeys code VoN1 epic. Thus they went thru all the trouble of making the epic ooath, but never remembered to put it in the quest.

Thus it will forever remain as a compedium tease that does not exist in the game.

LOL! Sad, but true.

Or maybe the devs just put it there to tease us.

I'll believe it when I see someone outside the quest with that axe, because unless something's changed it cannot even leave the quest without disappearing. Unless I'm proven wrong, your logic is severely flawed.

My assertion is: "there is no Epic Oath of Droam in Epic Von1 that disappears upon exiting the quest."

My evidence is: A picture from Epic Von1 of a clearly nonepic Oath of Droam.
More than 10 completions of said quest with me picking up the axe in at least 90% of them.

Conclusion: The axe that disappears upon leaving Von1 is called The Oath of Droam, there is an Epic Oath of Droam in the compendium. A =/= B.

AKA You misread my statements, didn't view the facts presented, or are saying that my logical assertion is something other than what it is. Furthermore, I didn't say that it was possible to pull it from the chest, I said it has to be pullable from the chest in order to create an epic version. It probably was put into the compendium A. to tease, B. as a forethought (like the epic GH weapons), C. because it will be craftable eventually, or D. they intend to make the one you CAN pull in Epic Von1 but must disown upon exiting Epic.

@lolwat thank you very much.

Well...considering that there will most likely be a sequel to the Droaam quest series, id say it is possible that you 'may' see this greataxe again as a epic item. Who knows, maybe one or more of the old Laughing Knives might join in the defense of stormreach...only time will tell what will become of this...
