Cold - Frost Combos

I saw quite a few cold - frost combo weapons on the AH yesterday.

If you bid on these items, Turbine will be removing the redundancy as the Risia Ice Games were not intended to create these weapons.

Thanks for the tip. I noticed a couple weapons like that and wondered (wasn't tempted to buy them anyhow, but it's good to know the effect was definitely unintended which seems obvious).

Is there official notice of this? A lot of times when they fix things, they leave everything up to that point alone. Wouldn't be much call to make a fix on this, since it's ending in roughly four days, but still.. I'd like to see a dev saying "we're coming for your items"...

though the items will remain, hence why there will be a fix.

I am too lazy to find it, but over in general forums there was a thread along the lines of 'is this an exploit' type question. A dev responded they would pull the effect off. Not sure if they said just the cold or both.
