Best duo partner for Drow Sorc?

My wife and I play together and we prefer just duoing at our own pace instead of worrying about keeping up with others. She has a Drow sorc and I'm trying to decide what would be the best duo partner.

Since she has low ac and can't self heal (atleast not till umd catches up), idealy I'd have to be able to be in front, do some melee dps and heal. This has stumped me on the best option for the team. Any suggestions on class and general build direction would help.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that while I have VIP its only for 30day free trial then going to premium, so no FvS or monk but purchasing WF. It will also be a 28pt build.

PS. Her sorc won't change race/class so don't bother suggesting it ;)

First thing that comes to mind is a WF melee favored soul. Good melee capability, excellent healer... You can heal your partner and she can even heal you :D

Warforged FvS... She'll be able to heal you and you able to heal her once she gets Reconstruct and you have Heal. Though you'll also be able to heal yourself, melee fairly well, have a deep SP pool on par with hers, have an ever so tasty HP total that will be many times greater than hers.

And if you don't have FvS unlocked, strong Warchanter Bard would also do. Or Cleric (battle, warpriest style).
