Sorry for this. I am new to the game, but want to try a paladin out. I have a level 3 monk. What would be a good paladin solo build to try that might lead to a possible endgame character?

Thanks.

Yo Flore

Read this thread (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=218542) for starters. (Or, simply click the back button on your browser and scroll down).

You'll find there are several things that make a good Paladin, and many of them are non-negotiable. Be sure to follow the links in the above thread and do your homework. You want a high STR and Cha, and depending on your fighting style, a decent Dex for Dual Weilding or a higher con if going 2 handed weapons.

In the build listed above, there is a link in the very first post to his sample builds. I will link it here (http://forums.ddo.com/showpost.php?p=2611611&postcount=7) for you to avoid confusion. When I returned to this game after a 3 year hiatus, I followed one of the templates listed therin and had a great time.

I'm going to shy away from giving you actual advice, as I would prefer you read the entire thread and draw your own conclusions. The material on this forum is comprised of people with far more knowledge and experience than I currently posses.

Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, and you'll likely get solid answers from the community.

Happy Smiting!

I'm also a new player and I built a slightly modified version of one of those sample builds. I recently ponied up some cash for the DDO points to re-build my level 17 Paladin with a Lesser Reincarnation and I built him almost exactly as one of those sample builds. My damage per second jumped by about 50% and I suddenly felt like someone who is contributing to the party and I expect that my character is slightly above average for his level instead of being significantly gimped. :)

3 cheers for Junts!

...Seriously. I know that lots of people probably think that their build for something is better than Junts's build, but Junts put up a very long and detailed set of posts that both list the build and explain why those choices were made. Go ahead and deviate from those builds if you have a reason to do so, but try the build out first before you deviate. Paladins are a blast to play when you have one that's fairly well built.
