I am new to the game and want to get a hang of it before I start to group and F.. people over. What is a good Solo class and build to play until I get the hang of it and can group more. Thanks in advanced.

Play a melee character for the first few levels. You'll have no problem solo-ing to level 2-3. After that you'll know enough to not mess up parties.

I highly recommend Paladin, fighter, or Monk, depending on what your playstyle is.

Your first character will almost certainly be a throwaway one, as you'll find out what you did wrong and then rebuild him.

Paladin would probably be the easiest, because you're durable, and can self heal through lay on hands and cure wands, something fighters and monks cannot do. Fighters survive by killing everything, and monks have several self-heal options available to them if you can get the mechanics down.

a really basic build would be to max your strength and almost max your con, roll a great axer or falchion using barbarian. very simple to learn and play.

solo'ing probably wouldn't be advisable to new players, learning with others usually has a higher chance of proc'ing a good experience.

that's just my two copper though.. lots of ways to go about it

WELCOME TO THE GAME!

if you find yourself on khyber, look up the names in my signature, i can help out a little if you'd like

Anithos888's Rockan Robin is an excellent starter build, it's actually what I started on when i came back to the game. The "healing skill" you get at lvl three is called Fists of Light, and you have to select the correct enhancements to get it. Make sure you re-read the entire build. At lvl 3 you should have this already, unless you haven't spent your AP's yet.

Fist of Light is a Ki ability that generates a healing debuff on the monster, so that every time anyone hits it they gain a small amount of health back.

When you have used this 3 times, provided you haven't broken the combo, you are eligible for the healing finisher, which is a groupwide heal. It's extremely effective at low levels.

Edit: any of the listed paladin builds in my previous post are good solo builds.
