No, I doubt that was ransack, that is probably the loot table screwup concerning the wraps. If the item was examined you'll probalby find it had the cash value of a lvl 10+ item.

As for your scepter... hot dam! I'm not joking. You probalby don't realize it but there was a bug such that a devotion of repair lore actually acted as a heal lore as well. I doubt that ever got fixed.

The one that took me by surprise was.. two years back. Pulled an adamantine +2 w/p rapier. Sucker got bound fast.

I seem to get funky handwraps.

1) +2 handwraps (that's it, nothing else) min level 14.
2) +1 handwraps of Greater Evil Outsider Bane, with two instances of Greater Evil Outsider Bane on it. Wish I had a monk high enough to try it out, although I am sure they won't stack. Sure be cool if they did!

The Bad Kind of Double Take: I got a few Masterwork Scepters from level 8+ elite quest chests.
I also get quite a bit of weapons you wouldn't ever use, such as a shortsword of ooze bane, proof against poison necklace with a RR Warforged, underwater action helmet of water breathing, etc. Silly things.

The Good Kind of Double Take: The first time I did the Pit on my first character, I got a Muck's Doom. We did the quest again right after the first time because I liked it a bunch (from what I hear I'm in the minority, I like jumping around and doing puzzles, what can I say?) and got a Muck's Doom again. So, that was nice.

I ran epic VON 1 the other night, my first epic quest EVER. It was great fun, took a VERY long time until we figured out what we were doing. Felt kinda cool to not be able to zerg through, had to take our time, almost total party wipe SEVERAL times just getting by because of a quickly tossed d-door, etc. Then at the end-chest where the epic seals are stacked on top, it gave me....
