Just because I am tired of going over this in RAIDS.

This will not cure your LAG, but it will help for TOD part 2, Shroud 1,4 and 5. (Heck any RAID or Quest with LAG). Everyone should do this, not just the Casters or the Healers.

First, open your Social Panel.

Go to the WHO tab, uncheck any, and hit search, this will clear anyone out and also prevent new logs to pop in.

Go to your FRIENDS tab, check hide offline friends.

Go to the GROUPING tab, uncheck groups you are not elligible for.

Second-Open up your OPTIONS, then UI SETIINGS.

Go down past the last color bar and turn off all your feedback all the way down.

Are you positive that those menus/filters/searches/displays are still active when they are not the active window on your screen? I know that if you open the who tab and sort buy guild, that will slow down the system while it is open but when closed, the delay disappears. I totally get the UI setting but regardless if this works then its a great tip. I"m just curious if this is a perceived improvement or those features do infact run in the background.

Don't forget the most important:

Go to the GUILD panel and click the Quit (or Disband button if available.)

Who is this "we" you speak of, because most of the decent players I know believe that

a) not having a constantly updated list of all player on the server logging in and out
b) not having a constantly updated list of all groups who are looking for members (albeit this is the least data-consuming of the three)
and c) not calculating and typing out for out every single change to your character, be it buff, damage taken, damage inflicted, hp healed for, etc.

actually can consume a portion of your computer's available processing capability.

I don't know... If these "lists" are constantly updating in the background (I.E. when the window that displays them is not active) then perhaps you may have a point. However, I can not imagine that the features that you describe would have any impact on the lag issue... we are talking about apples and oranges here. Again, I applaud your attempt at providing solutions but I'm not sure this is it.

What exactly does a Wedjat have to do with lag? Are you saying the Eye of Horus is causing lag in DDO?

Yeah dude .. um .. you are waaay out of line there. How many Elite completions on Tower of Despair do you have?

Oh, lemme tell you .. you have ZERO .. I know this because without the said Lag maintenance that would pretty **** near impossible IMO. If it is possible, I haven't seen it and would like to met the caster who ran the Fiends around so I could personally get on my knees and blow him.

There's a tech note which was read to me explaining why these settings are helpful.

Is it the Solution?

I understand Solution to mean something which fixes a problem.

No, it does not FIX the problem. It does however reduce the impact of the problem.
