...useable only in explorer areas...
FUN!
...and you no longer have to wear out your shoes climbing all the way to the vista in the Vale every time you want to go for a romantic picnic and watch the sunset!

In open explorer areas only. Flying around in the SubT might be a little cheap...

You should only be able to use this inside cities. Otherwise people would buy them, cast bb/fw, fly upwards 20 feet. Then mobs using distance weapons and spells would have to have increased damage.
I'd love to be able to fly to the top of the mountain in the desert, but abuse is too prevalent.
Unless they could program "cannot use within 5 minutes of casting a spell or using a ranged weapon, and cannot cast/range while flying."
or "all previously cast spells are dispelled upon using this potion, and will remain dispelled for the potion's duration."

Possibly make it an effect which breaks on combat, and requires a certain amount of explorers/slayers/rares already killed in the area?

I'm not convinced that this would be a good thing. Fun, sure - but I think it'd make too many explorer zones meaningless.

Sometimes I really wonder where you get your pictures from
I don't see how the strategy would be different. I just run past the stuff anyway :)

Oh look another EASY button.
Sorry can name many a reason this wont work. Heck they already tried to nerf the jumps monk/FVS can do in RwD but still a good jumper can keep from doing a lot of the first area.
I see a new sig coming...something degrading to those who want Easy buttons...ya know something more than the complete lack of game skills they already exhibit. Ill keep ya posted...its coming.

Well lets say it gives you fly - but also overwhelming stun - or whatever that stun that disallows magic use... Or make the potion level 20 only. Or available only when explorer is completed...
Oh look another EASY button.
Really - that poor dead horse is taking a flogging - people can't call "easy button" on everything...
*Edit to make clear I'm not singling out Lorz in particular!

Charge 1000pp with a 3 minute duration, or have it as a Festivus cookie. Something that could be used as a rarity.

City area only, don't think it would be that bad, altough I don't know if I like thinking of the marketplace zerging around flying people like in the reavers, but if it costs some semirespectable gold, why not another gold sink.
Explorer areas? No thx, just think about the times you were still *exploring*, and not doing your 1000ooo... vale run. A fly potion ruins all of that, just make a air trip round and finished? Nah, pls no.

Precisely why the Devs have said in the past why they will not add the Fly spell in any substantive form.
In essence it would break most if not all of the game, as they would have to go back through every inch of every instance to make sure that not only would fly work within the instance and there would not be any bugs or stuck spots and what not, buthe AI would have to be completely retooled to compensate for it.

A man can dream can't he? Wack a great big (invisible) physics block object over the top of the level and be done with it (much like those that exist around the lighthouse, or the floating blocks in the twelve etc)...
The potion also has to also only be available either at say level 20, 2500 favor or some other such factor that negates it being used as an exploit - I see it as a fun reward for getting all explorers and being level 20 or some such...
I'd also hope that the fact that something is in most likelyhood impossible would not stop people from suggesting it! I mean - who knows what these devs can do!
