I need some help with the progression of my Character Allun. He is a Level 7 rouge/ Level 2 Ranger/ Level 2 Fighter. My plan is to take 1 more level of rogue for the BAB boost, then go either 4 levels of ranger or 4 levels or fighter, then go 4 more levels of rogue to finish Allun off. The question is Ranger or Fighter?

If you go to 13 Rogue, you'll get an additional SA die and an additional special ability.
Although, if you're ranged most of the time, there might not be much there you want.

I'd go ranger though. The built-in manyshot and access to arcane archer are probably your best bets. Or you could go Deepwood Sniper, if you're only getting the first tier anyway (and aren't an elf to access the elven version of Arcane Archer).

IMO, I think 12Rog/6Rang/2Fighter is going to give you versatility and strength. Like Symar said, 13 Rog>12 Rog because the 2nd rogue feat (usually Crippling Strike and Evasion at 10,13) and the extra sneak attack damage die. You also get more skill points by focusing on Rogue and Ranger levels. But since you already have 2 Fighter levels, 13 Rog would prevent you from taking 6 levels in Ranger. 12Rog/6Rang/2Fig is better than 13Rog/5Rang/2Fig or 13Rog/5Fig/2Rang.

Other than that, maybe 7Rog/11Rang/2Fighter would be good, too. 11 is another decent "milestone" level for Rangers, which gives Precise Shot, Imp. Precise Shot, GTWF, max Resist Energy (30/-) and +4 barkskin.

I'll admit my bias: I'm rather lukewarm about any Fighter splash more than 1 level and less than 12 level. But I'm sure you'll get other opinions.
