So many froobs lately!
And I mean that as an insult. Not as a bash against free players, nor against new players, but that specific subset of the two that also includes complete idiots and griefers.
At least have the decency to say you don't know the quest, so myself or someone else can take over. Assuming you'll even listen that is.
Sorry, just upset. Missed out on some good xp during that bonus week because of this (And my limited schedule some days). Feel free to ignore this. Though I will be happy once I get to level 11+ and they start dying off, and I get my greensteel out fo the bank.

Just annoyed at the quality of mid-level pugs recently.
Ask if they know the quest well.
If they don't, go ahead and teach them.
Also, they make great lever pullers for those trapped levers.
Or you can take the anthropologist route. Stand at the back and take notes on how they approach the quest. With the ingame browser, you can even start a new thread and update it as they go.

Ran with someone that put in their LFM that you must send a tell to join. I wanted to run the shroud so I sent a tell and since a cat needed to die I asked what that was for and they said they wanted to make sure that the persons joining could follow directions and those that didn't send a tell and clicked on the LFM insted didn't get accepted.
I'm going to start doing that on quests that I really want to complete. I'm thinking that when I do TR a character, I'll be putting that up quite a lot.
I have still met a few good players below 10, a lot of fun to run with also, but they are few.
I wish I had a way to edit my friends list and see who isn't playing anymore. I need some space to add people.

so, THAT is what all those lfms are about asking ppl to /tell to join? I was wondering myself what additional info they might be getting out of having someone send them a tell... I mean based on the tell you don't actually see the level, class or guild of the person applying.
myddo spying on them is just as easy etc ;)

I've thought about additional info and basically it lets the group leader know that you have actually read their lfm and know what you will be doing and at what difficulty. The trick is to make the message long enough so that you have to hover over the leader to see the last bit that way you know the person wanting to join has actually read the lfm.
I prefer someone to actually go through my lfms even if someone in the group knows someone. If I haven't run with them then they need to go through my lfm. If I list for instance the Tempest pug where we will be killing everything...I want the person to go through my lfm and know what we are doing. People get upset if you tell them that someone has to go through my lfm and actually click on it instead of me inviting. Then...they have the nerve to ask for a share on Tempest Spine. Like, totally, freaking, DUH! You gotta talk to the guy to be sent there. I don't mind sharing if you forget to pick up the quest, that happens, if the entrance is way over yonder and you are here(the Haywire Foundry giver and entrance distance for instance) I would share something similar to that (not that particular quest because I think you should really talk to Merek the first time you flag for VON, I'm just using the distance between the giver and entrance as a measurement), but when you have to walk up to the entrance person, that drives me a bit bonkers.
I have noticed on lower level quests people will ask for a share very frequently. I tell them where the giver is and we are standing next to the giver but they still want a share.
I've done myddo spying. Not everyone can be spied upon. I've run with some good people that don't list their characters too, but I have also figured that if you made it to higher levels then you should be somewhat competant with your character.
That little button that gets you right to it is really nice. I like that a lot. It makes it so much easiear to myddo spy.
Here we go again. Another anti new player / f2p thread?
Now I realize that new players can be hard to deal with, however, I have grouped with vets that are worse players than many so called "froobs". Give someone an awesome set of gear, trying to pound out 20 more levels as quickly as possible, and they think they can take on the entire quest. This used to be entertaining when they only got themselves killed, however, now that the DA system ensures that everyone in the party will die when they mess up, the reincarnated build enthusiasts / vets are actually worse than the "froobs".
Selective grouping FTW.

No, it's more an anti-idiot thread.
It just so happens that a lot of them are free and/or new.
But we can drop it now. Got into a couple decent groups and got some stuff done, so feeling better. One of them was, I believe, mostly new players, too.
