Right now, I'm using a variety of scepters, daggers, and clubs to get my desired effects. I've read up on crafting, but at this point I'm going to need to do it to really understand it. Can you have a nice endgame setup with a staff?

Other than that one,I can't think of many staves worth it.certainly not greensteel anything.

Not really - staves typically carry only as many enhancements as a scepter club or dagger. So you could hold a potency staff in both hands, or hold the same potency item on a scepter in one hand, and a crit multiplying item in the other hand.

It's too bad really - a wizard looks more like a wizard when he's holding a staff than 2 puny lil scepters...

I want caster stavs to be as viable as twf casters, and I want the pointy wizard hat graphic in the game. :(

Thank you for the quick replies. I'm not sure how I missed the Staff of the Petitioner, so thanks again for the heads up. I'm actually intrigued by both Necromancy and Enchantment as primary schools, so if I could get some of the other effects on items maybe it would be "okay". But yeah, my limited information seems to fall directly in line with Newton's post. I'm not sure what the harm would be in allowing an extra prefix/suffix on staffs. It would be harder to "luck" out with a good drop by allowing an additional effect.

if it's any help,you can view the past 3 lives of my current character,nightmare on cannith server.Click tabs 1 ( 28 point human) tab 2 (34 point WF) or tab 3 (current lvl 14 human 36 point.)it might give you an idea of end game layout.all i haven't done yet is craft him greensteel goggles but it will be done shortly.
