Did a quick search, and didn't find anything. What 2-h weapon do fighters want to use?
If there is a thread covering all the fighter wep choices, it would be awesome if someone could post a link:)
Also, i am a TOTAL newb when it comes to anything D&D so please be gentile if this is a stupid question:(

Falchions have a 30% crit range with Improved Critical, which is the highest a Two-Handed Weapon can get. When your damage mod goes over something like +35 or so it becomes the best weapon. Also it gets the most benefit from Seeker items. 14-20 crit range is nice. ;)
Someone may give a better argument for Greataxes or Greatswords... But I personally think Falchions are better.

By improved critical, do you mean the enhancement or the feat?
Edit: and am i correct in assuming that it is a slashing weap (makes sense>.>)

Falchions have a base 15% chance to critical.
The Improved Critical: Slashing feat doubles that for 30%. (Feat)
Then Kensei Falchion Mastery 3 gives you an increase to your threat range by one for 35% total chance to critical. (Enhancement part of your PrE.)
yah love my silver holy burst of deception falchion and will love it even more after I upgrade it tomrrow to the frost icy burst

Gah, I still need to do that with half my weapons on most of my characters! So many weapon sets...so little time... *Cry.*

Ah, wasn't sure if you were talking about Critical accuracy enhancement or the Power critical feat>.>
And on that note, would it be a good idea to try to fit the power critical feat into a build?

It'll do you as much good as taking Diehard on a Warforged would.

kinda depends on what matters to you and what kinda people you group with. If you run with a caster that likes to hold..Great Axe is the way to go. If you like huge numbers...greataxe once again...if you are a dwarf...greataxe...
BUT! if you like to crit a lot go Falchion. Though at low levels try to farm a Carnifex from Delera's tomb. It is 17-20 for x3 dmg. Best 2 hand weapon for a long time.
BTW if looks are most important...try quarterstaff. They look awesome...especially if you can get a Rahl's Might. Another reason to use quarterstaff is if you are a Thief-Acrobat ROG.
Also Mauls and greatclubs are nice on bones.
So in synopsis
big numbers =greataxe
lotsa crits =falchion
somewhere in between= Greatsword
Looks= Quarterstaff

It's one of those feats that's just there to tempt new players into taking them, like Improved Feint. Or Diehard in general, really.

What makes it bad tho? Is it just that with other feats + the critical enhancements the 4 you gain from it makes it weak compared to other choices?

It's bad because you're going to critical anyway. I've only not criticaled once (when I was paying attention to non-Fort mobs) without it.
A better feat would be Quickdraw, since it decreases the time it takes for your Action Boosts to activate.

It is worthless because end game you hit on a 2 and up and automatically miss on a "1". +4 to a "1" still is a "fumble" and is an auto miss. That feat/enhancement may be nice at early lvls...but kinda sucks later. Same can be said about improve crit _____. Due to Mineral 2 having Keen on it.
That being said there is a Mind Flayer named Fred who can help you with changing your feats. So yeah...improved crit is nice...just change it once you have your greensteel weapon...and yeah I think if you have the plat/resources for a Tier 3 Greensteel item...you can pay Fred.

I still like Improved Critical for my trash beaters. :)

Good point Aylin, playing a caster I kinda forget that Melee's have a tool for pretty much everything. I kinda fall into the if blade barrier cant kill it...I will come back later with some friends and let them kill it lol.
Also what Aylin touched on is also this...melees should not have a "one and only" weapon. Have many type of damage and DR beating weapons. Your versatility really makes you valuable. Don't be that guy with the whole "MY (insert random weapon here) can kill everything...." because mobs with DR and etc can really mess ya up.

Exactly. For the lower levels you need a Slashing weapon for Zombies and a Bludgeoning weapon for Skeletons.
Later on you'll need different alignment types to break through DR (Good, Chaotic, Lawful) as well as different types of damage.
When you get to Tempest Spine (your first raid) you're going to want an Ice weapon (Fire Reavers, Fire Elementals), a Fire weapon (Ice Flensers), a Chaotic Weapon (A Marut), an Adamantine/Transmuting weapon (Iron Golems) and then your standard DPS weapons.
Also don't use Fire weapons on the Iron Golems, and don't use Acid on the Clay ones since you'll end up healing them. ;)

Maybe I'm behind on the math... I thought Falchon & GA were pretty similar DPS now on non-fort mobs but GA pulled ahead once you are dealing with fort?

That is a seriously overpowered weapon right there.
