Epic Scrolls

What are these and Why do they sell for so much money. Do you need a certain amount to get that item? Ex Epic Bloodstone. As you can tell I haven't run Epic quests yet?

TY and again sorry to the ignorance but you must have said item to upgrade it right? Again the bloodstone. When you upgrade it does that item become bound to that character?

Upgrading to epic involves combining an item(e.g. Bloodstone) + Seal of that item + Shard of that item + Scroll of that item in the epic combiner thing in the 12. It upgrades the stats of the item (http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=121279) and makes them bound to character and min lvl 20.

edit: Seals + shards are bound to account, so scrolls(and sometimes the items themselves) are the only tradeable part.

The drop rate for scrolls seems to be incredibly low though, as I have run a Wiz King and multiple VoN 1/2/3 with 0 scroll drops.
