I am a new player and I have a quick question. When you are in the middle of a quest and log out, will you still be in the middle of the quest when you return? When I logged on last night, I was in the villiage, instead of at Misery Peak. Is this a fluke, or does this always happen. Thanks.

If you re-log within 5 minutes of the last person leaving the quest, you will still be in the quest, otherwise you will be at the nearest safe spot (town).

When you log out in mid-quest the quest instance is only held for a short amount of time, like 5-10 minutes, and then expires. The hold is to give you a chance to log back in and resume the quest in case you crashed out rather than logged out.

If you log in after the timer expires, then you will find yourself at the entrance to the quest. Since Misery's Peak is located in an explorer area, which is also an instance, you end up all the way back at the entrance of the explorer area in the village of Korthos.
