Desktop icon will not launch!!

hello ddo world! I tried to log on feb. 6, 2010, and noticed that when I hit my desktop icon it opened for a bit, all I get to is the "monk" picture, initializes and then minimizes and it then closed itself down to the tool bar blinking blue.I didnt even have the chance to see the log on screen. Then my turbine download manager near the rt side of my tool bar was there so i double clicked on that and it would not stop giving me error message pages. I counted 62 error message pages and they kept on coming like a machine gun. I had no chance to see the error problem because when i tried to stop it they would all close out completely. I did get the chance to see a "code 5" error message though. I couldn't even rt click on the blinking DDO page to close it out or by using the end task manager and had to shut system down. So I went ahead and tried to run a repair on the system. Half way through it would give me all types of down loader errors with the options to cancel repairing or skip this error though it would hurt system intergity b/c files may not be there. Then i went ahead and uninstalled DDO, reinstalled DDO, rerepaired it 4x ( without hick-ups) made this file sharable on my pc with myself and am the administrator. When I try to launch, the startup page comes up and shrinks down to the tool bar again. But, at least this time I can close it down using end task manager program. This problem was not there yesterday since I played and nothing had changed on this PC from the time I logged off to when I tried to log on given these issues. Im also running windows xp pro. Not to sound like a rear end but I am a paying member and this really blows so if any advice can be given would be great!! Thx and may your blades always be thirsty.

* The TDM UI occasionally stops updating, even though TDM is still downloading. To correct this, close the UI using the x in the upper right hand corner, and then reopen it by double clicking the icon in the system tray or through the start menu.
* Windows Vista Only - After installing Lamannia via TDM, the live non-TDM DDO client hangs at "Examining Programs." To fix this, please go into the folder you have the live client for DDO installed and run this file:

TurbineRegisterGDF.exe

This worked for me and I'm running windows 7 64 bit ultimate.

Ditch TDM and play/patch the traditional way.

dndlauncher.exe in your installed game directory.

Mine is was not running with a double click either, just trying running it is adminstrator mode. Fixed it for me.

Right on, the problem is , is that Im already the administrator and always have been on this PC, now I went back and rerererereinstalled the game again, same thing it would not open the game and left me with the link at the bottom of the tool bar. Sooooo.... I decided to try another repair and all these new little jewels popped up!!
