Unbelievable, after a DA party wipe and barely getting through Bastion on normal with a good group, at the end fight the marilith rubberbands while she is in the middle, no one ran down the hall, she was in the main room, on the edge. dissappears and comes back full health.

Thanks for making update 3 great. Boots required for Tower of Defeat, oh... but sorry, we screwed up Bastion so bad that you won't be able to get the blood to make your boots. Maybe a few less dev resources on new textures for the marketplace and a few more dev resources on actual game mechanics and broken quest fixes. just a thought.

Two questions:

Was everything near the shrine of the last floor cleared? If not, for some reason any aggroed enemies not in the end fight room can cause the two bosses to tether. This is an issue we've had since module 9.
Did she tether from the center or the edge of the room near the gate? Your sentence states she rubberbanded while at the middle AND on the edge, which is hard for a single monster to be in two places at once. If she tethered at the edge, near the gate, that is nothing new either.

Yes we cleared everything on that floor... She tethered at least twice, maybe 3 times. the first time I was multishotting her and she was really, as I remember it, almost smack dab in the middle and dissappeared, only to return in her cubby with full HPs. She did it again at the edge of the main room, never did she enter the hallway to the gate that would lead to the shrine. I've done this quest at least 15 times, I've never ever seen anything remotely close to this... Bastion is the new abbot lite. People rarely run it now, once to flag and that's it which is probably why they changed ToD so people will run, I mean grind, the amrath quests more , but like this no one is going to run either if they don't already have the boots.

She did that to us once. I was able to fix her by completely restarting the fight. But that was a bit of a pain.

That fight's always been buggy.

No, she didn't bug, she essentially rubberbanded in the room itself, back to her cubby, from half hitpoints back to fully hitpoints ready to rumble. After the third time we wiped. I had to leave, not sure what my group decided to do. No one in our group was outside the main room.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure that's called bugging. :)

We had her tether over and over and over in one fight. She would rubberband back to her starting location and then tether again before she even moved a step.

But once we completely stopped the fight and came back, she performed normally.

This happened to coincide with the top buttons bugging out and being unpressable.

I've just had problems with that fight a few times now.

Not quite sure on that... must have run this quest least a few dozen times before DA and maybe a few dozen afterwars... I've seen her spazz out before but the only time I remember it happen was when one person was locked outside the end fight.

This particular run the bottom was clear ... fact is the entire dugeon was pretty clear.

We had some misfortune with a wipe due to upper level agro causing DA orange to kick in early on in the quest - funny thing was my pally and the cleric in group were harried from just an orange setting (I never recalled a debuff on orange before, then again am uncertain as I've not pusshed to orange very often) as we moved down the hall towards the rest of the group... strange however was 12 mob agro'd and but six left - 5 orthons and a teifling - and rememined orange for about five minutes after.

As for the end encounter... two od the three switches were pulled, we opted just to take down the devil and face the marilith who for the first - i'd say 2-3 minutes played fine she moved from and agroed on deiffering party members ... demons spawned and seemed entirely normal - then she started rubberbanding...

On a good note two blood were pulled by the party ... is but my first run in there since the update but I only seen two blood pulled only once in a single run before this point, I am hoping that is a good sign of things to come.

No you are wrong. It appears that you were not in the main room, but down the hall towards the gate that leads to the shrine. she followed you there, and then at some distance from the main room, she would rubberband back to her spawn point. If you had bothered to read my post you would realize that is not what happened. The marilith should not rubberband while still in the main room. Also, my understanding of a boss "bugging" refers to when they simply sit there and do nothing while being attacked. thank you. T

*sniff* I still need blood... :( but I hope that is a sign of an increased drop rate!!!!

Bugging just means anything that goes wrong with the fight that is something wrong with the game rather than human error. Rubber-banding and coming back at full health is bugging just as much as sitting there and doing nothing is.

Seriously...? Did you even read HIS post? When did he say he was down the hall towards the shrine? When he said the "completely restarted the fight" I assume that meant then went down the hall and then walked out to completely restart the fight... Just because shroud part 4 boss was "bugged" to not do anything doesn't mean that's the only type of bugging possible. If it's not acting as intended (i.e. rubberbanding in the middle of the room) then it's bugging. Quit being a moron and attacking other people because you're ****ed at a quest and don't understand what bugging is. He was simply trying to help by giving a suggestion that if it happens again, try resetting and giving it another go.

That be an understatement... you clean up a room smashing the portal, one person walks into the hall and green alert - no mob around - a few more steps - still no mob accessible, you see them above though - then you're close to the next room and they agro a tad yellow or orange alert instantly, enter the room and it may be red, but wait you need to soon as you want to smash the portal spawning more...

One thing I did notice though that was a welcome change was my ability to go Toe to Toe.. errr... Torso?.. with the Marilith and keep standing. DUnno if it was a fluke or not yet as I havent repeated, but Intim and got in her face and meleed her down from about 20% without getting overrun....

Opps! my bad. You are correct. applogies to Bobbyryan, I think when I read "rubberbanding over and over" my thought as to how that might occur took over my comprehension.

Bobbyryan, OK so we are talking about exactly the same thing, again appologies. Exactly how did you "reset" it. did you wipe and recall, or run out and wait? I would appreciate that info and will try to actually read your reply *turns red a little* T

Giddy,
hmm.. you seem to fling out names rather easily... Something I didn't do, and I was clear about my interpretation of his comment so easily shown to be wrong, which I am very happy to admit as well as to my frustration with that quest and update 3.

:o Yeah sorry for some reason I got really angry at your post and I have no idea why. I don't usually stoop to name calling either so I'm not sure why it came to that, and I apologize as well.

If he doesn't reply in detail and it happens to you again, I'd say resetting just meant to run everyone back down the hall until everything resets and the gate opens, pop outside of the boss fight for a little bit then give it another go. But yeah I can't be sure exactly what he did and I've never experienced this problem, so hopefully he gives you more details.

My apologies again for the attack,

Giddly

Let's see. I think you can have luck by gathering everyone right at the gate. You might be able to get the gate to come up long enough to get out (at least i have a few times.)

Otherwise you'd have to d dor...

I think that particular time, I casted death pact, we all died, and I rezzed outside the room.

That was pretty common before actually. I used to always melee her down on my fvs.

The problem comes with more people... when she'll shift aggro and then go 'through' you to get to them. If you're solo, she rarely ever overruns you.

Lailat will do the same thing. Hell.. our epic DQ strategy was to stand still, let Lailat come to you so she won't over run you, and then just beat 'er down.
