Thank you Turbine. Thank you so much. I just tried LR for one of my toons that needed a re-spec due to game mechanics changes since she was first built. To my pleasant surprise all the items she was wearing (Greensteel, DT Robe, etc.) are now gone! Excellent job. I really, really, really, wanted to grind SoS and Shroud again to get those items I had.

Kudos.

Did you speak to the Minotaur on the airship before leaving it?

You and GM answered at same time. Turns out it was in this secret place of overflowing inventory (and I was burdened too due to starting 8 str) I guess icons are the same or perhaps bugged?

Either way, Turbine, why not make a reincarnation-only bank slot (just like for TR) when doing all reincarnations as opposed to put items into this unseen dimensional space in the inventory.

Thx all for help.

Godspeed.

How exactly is having items go into an unseen part of your inventory in any way intuitive?

/facepalm right back at you

I understand your frustration as it is not intuitive, I'm just recommending you wait for the DM response before throwing and angry post up on the forums.

So just to clarify, everything turned out fine?

I read the warning by Krutz (whatever his name is) about unequipping your gear before LR'ing... good thing I did!

yes, and jumping to the conclusion that this is somehow WAI and not a bug or oversight is way more productive.

It's not exactly an innate part of reincarnation that is removing all your equipped items. Unless you were wearing starter gear, all your stuff has level reqs above level 1. When you log in, you're not qualified to wear your equipment so it throws it into your inventory. If your inventory is full or close, the excess goes into the overflow buffer.

I saw it happen on Lammania so I knew it would occur on live and didn't fret.

The difference between inventory overflow buffer and the TR vault is the moment you have an open pack slot the overflow buffer fills it, which is different than the TR vault where you go get stuff when you are ready for it. My guess would be they did not want to give people a bunch of extra bank slots (as there is nothing forcing people to take stuff out of a TR vault).

Wow..so now your upset because you come on the forums raising cane about your own lack of game interface knowledge and your inability to read the screen. The /facepalm you earned it....you may not want it..but its yours...jumping back at others just lets your inner newbie shine!

Pro tip here for ya Virginia....when a new icon pops up on the upper right hand corner of the screen....mouse over it so you know what is up. It will be your first clue that something is up.

Turbine...Thanks for LR even if some people are ingrates

I'd probably raise a fit too if I thought I'd lost all my stuff. So no fault there. Just be a bit more thorough next time before you post ;)

I did something similar several months ago when I posted angrily about ingredient bags now being Bound to Character. About 5 minutes later I realized I had some Eldritch runes in the bag, which was making it say it was BtC...yea... /eats crow :o

I think everyone understands that it would be quite frustrating to think your gear has been lost due to a game bug. Thankfully, that was not the case here.

Don't you think you owe Turbine an apology for your hasty first post about the subject? True, they could have made things more obvious to you and prevented your frustration, but there are steps you could have taken before posting a flame, and while their behavior (not making things more intuitive) was simply an oversight, your flame was done with purpose and seemingly an invalid sense of entitlement.
