Seriously, It is truly amazing how many different rants about Turbine, DDO, Game Mechanics, DDO Store, Etc. Etc..
Bottomline:
1. The game is free to play, If you can afford it, pay for it. 'Nuff Said!
2. The Air ellies are to mean to me. OK fixed...Then, The air ellies are to easy. WaaaWaa...'Nuff Said!
3. Geesh there is so much nonsense being said on the general chat channel. Turn it off. "Nuff Said!
4. So much mis-information on the advice channel. Turn it off. 'Nuff Said!
5. This game is just another grind, its no fun. Leave and stop bringing negativity to the table. 'Nuff Said!
6. I am sick and tired of Turbine releasing bugged updates. Live with it or leave. Nuff Said!
The list goes on and on...but serisouly, I challenge someone to find me a game that delivers what DDO does, that is
as high a quality, with a great social network and is free to play.

I agree 100%
I love the game and pay my $14.99 a month to support Turbine. All MMO's have issues and DDO is an MMO. If you have fun then you can pay to play or play for free, either way just play the game.
If you do not have fun then leave the game.

However, complaining about people complaining about people complaining remains completely valid.

If you want to play that game... I'm sure we could just point out something about whining about those whining about those whining about those whining....
But it all comes down to the fact that the original whiners have legitimiate issues with their games being broken (mostly). And these bugs need to be pointed out and dealt with... hell, the devs may not even know about half of them.
The whiners about them are just inciting people with no purpose. Because telling furious people to chill out is always a good strategy..

I pay for my sub and feel i have the right to express my displeasure at a company that consistantly delivers garbage and bugged content from Beta forward. I'm sorry that in your little world anger and displeasure is only expressed in whining and crying. I'm more for concise posts outlining my displeasure in detail so that the people that are making these kinds of decisions can gauge the response of their actions / decisions.
Now who the hell do you think you are to call out anyone that has voiced their opinions negatively. What kind of **** is this and i'm surprised as all hell the moderaters let you people get away with this time and time again. Pretty sure calling people out on the forums for the sake of trolling is easily against the guidlines.
If you want to pat turbine on the back for the many bugs in their release go right ahead. Make your own thread and be happy. The fact that instead you choose to attack and belittle makes me chuckle a bit. do you not have your own opinions? Or are you jumping on the whole "oh noes they said something bad about my precious turbine" bandwagon. you people make me sick

Give it a bit more time Sylv. Soon those rose colored glasses that you are seeing DDO through will change to a bright crimson hue. The sky will turn red and then it will be your time to Reign in Blood (on these forums).

How am I a DND geek  Bcause I play a MMO loosely based on the Dungeons and Dragons table top game?
Also, when I picture the person who says "nuff said", it's always a toothless inbred redneck who doens't have a proper grasp of English. I don't know of the "uber comic geek" origin of this.

Hmm I wonder if the people who say don't complain went to Mcdonalds and found a roach in their new product would just eat it. What if you had told them they had roaches a month ago, when they had a preview of the new product, and they had time to "fix the bugs" before the rollout?
As long as I pay for a service, if I am not happy with said service, I am going to speak up. Of course other options exist:
1) go to other place to eat
2) live with the bugs
3) gather the bugs and make a movie about them all in your apartment

This attitude of being thankful for paying for something that is less than 50% what they portray it to be, less than 75% what they state outright it will be, and all the while take our money for granted is like a battered spouse. Grow a pair and stand up for what's right already, people. Enough of this grovelling "thank you for the gruel, sir" attitude.
I swear these people are missing the entire whipped nature of their standpoint. You're getting shafted, and you want us all to be thankful for being shafted out of fear that it could be worse. That's like begging a mugger to only shoot you in the kneecap instead of the chest rather than knocking his *** to the ground and stomping his **** in the dirt.
You want to suffer and pay money for it? Cease using email and use the USPS exclusively. Buy the complete collection of Michael Moore films when they're NOT on sale BEFORE they go in the remainders bin. Man up and get married.

Whining is a good thing!
it maybe frustrating to read, but if someone feels passionatly about something to make the effort and complain about it, then that person shouldnt be silenced! He is someone who enjoys the product but can see things which needs improving.
Rather that than someone just stops playing and leaves.

I sort of agree with, but on a different level. Yes if general chat is annoying you turn it off. If you do not like the advice that given in chat channel turn it off or correct what they are saying. These are silly things to complain. Did someone really complain about air ellies. I love them. It's nice to have something that is a challenge. Even it is only a small challenge. I'm a cleric so them things keep me on my butt constantly. :-) If they made them weaker that is going to suck. I'll just have to go back to lala mode. If there is a bug in the game, don't complain about it report it in a timely and respectful manner so that it can be fixed. Hollering that the game is too hard and needs to be easier is not a valid complaint. It is already easier let's not make it any more so please.

Not I my friend, The phrase " 'Nuff Said" Is from one my favorite movies...Ocean's Thirteen....
Regarding Air Elemntals: There have been alot of posts about Air Eles' being a super pain, I personally thought it was funny to see my party being bounced around like pinballs for several minutes.
As a fix to this issue " Yes, Turbine does react to some of the things we bring up on the forums" They have changed the manner in which the knockdown effect works, bascially making the air eles' a simple mob to beat down.
Try the Reavers Fate now...it is a push over. And yes, now people have complained the change has made them too easy.
Like I stated, the list goes on and on. 'Nuff Said!
P.S. By the way, I had to look up what "trolling" was. I had no clue. "trolling" in my opinion is very subjective.

So, to troll this, If you are F2P, you shouldn't have any input to make the game better.
Got it.
So here goes:
Anyone remember back in 1985 when Coke was the best selling soft drink, but was losing market share to Pepsi? They made a "new" Coke and they lost their core market share but were number one only due to their fountain sales. So, because they are number one, we should never complain that they ruined the recipe and want the old Coke back?
While new product introduction is always a bump to your sales (for people who have never tried it before), you alienate your current, loyal customer base. In Coke's case, when sales for the summer remained flat (as opposed to rising like every soft drink should), they had to make the change. Once the Coke "Classic" came back, it substantially out sold the replacement product (and Pepsi for that matter).
Coke spent a considerable amount of time trying to figure out where it had made a mistake, ultimately concluding that it had underestimated the public impact of the portion of the customer base that would be alienated by the switch.
Later studies show that it wasn't the product, but how it was marketed - and the markets they were going for - that were the issues. Doesn't that sound like DDO?

DDO is number 1 in nothing..... Just because mmorpg.com says they are "f2p game of the year" means nothing. In fact ddo isnt even "f2p" in the truest sense. You can argue the point all day, but if they are making more money with this model than with paid subs(which obviously they are), you cant say they are truly "f2p". They CAN BE f2p up to a point IF you meet certain criteria while playing.

Stan Lee. Go read any Marvel comic book letters page from the early sixties :D
[Edit. Original post + 2 hours] To all who can remember the sixties (I was there, just too young at the time to partake in activities to cause me to forget :))... Does it strike anyone else that the letters to the editor pages in comic books are the direct ancestors to today's forums?
1) Pertainance to anything real? Negative on both counts
2) Attempts to sway the producer's implementation despite having no direct input? Affirm on both on this one
3) Entertaining for 3rd parties to read? You Betcha! :D

Up to you to decide what's better.
That's because the Devs are not required to read these forums. To get something noticed by anyone empowered to do anything about a problem the proper way to whine is to submit an in-game bug report.
In my experience, both in and out of the DDO environment (read Real World), 99.2% of the population can't be bothered to do so.:rolleyes:

Hmm I wonder if the people who say don't complain went to Mcdonalds and found a roach in their new product would just eat it. What if you had told them they had roaches a month ago, when they had a preview of the new product, and they had time to "fix the bugs" before the rollout?
As long as I pay for a service, if I am not happy with said service, I am going to speak up. Of course other options exist:
1) go to other place to eat
2) live with the bugs
3) gather the bugs and make a movie about them all in your apartment
I give this post 3 thumbs (in the chili):D

Nuff Said!!!
Does this not make you a victim of your own discontent? Funny how those things work.
Also with number 4 that can actually be a purely legitimate issue. You get people spouting off incorrect information and falsities that in turn cause someone to make a bad build, or major mistake in a raid, etc and it can adversely affect everyone else.

LOLz you are that bitter and still here since beta. I'm not sure therapy can work in this case. Hope you're on some type of gov't watch list.
Rofl you are dead on with that one. I have one friend who has played since just after release while the rest of us have quit for a year or more before trying ddo again. Every time hes annoyed with the game or doesnt like something he can nonstop talk trash for hours. Anytime I or someone else talks trash about it though he goes emo and off the deep end defending it

Maybe you're not paying attention. They receive reports CONSTANTLY and IGNORE them. Quest losing bugs that their DMs could fix, they don't. Bugs that they could fix in minutes, they take over an hour to respond to, and then say, "sorry, no can do" when their DMs have the power to do a whole lot of things. Bugs are reported and nothing is ever followed up on.
Why am I staying so long after they've blown any credibility? Partly masochism, partly principle.
SOMEONE NEEDS TO CALL THEM ON THEIR LIES AND DEFEND THE AD&D LEGACY.
I am disgusted by the take it or leave it attitude of compliance and supplication before a company that repeatedly displays nothing but disgusting disregard for the integrity of the property which has a rich history of being fun and mature, and for the desires and integrity of the paying players whose human creativity and inventiveness they eschew in favor of forcing them to run mazes like mice.

You lost me with this statement. There is no AD&D Legacy in DDO, which despite the many obstacles, has been brought to the world by Turbine. They should be applauded, not chastised for doing so. As has been said many times before, If You think You can do it better, please start Your own company, secure the D&D rights, and Make "Your" MMO any way You want. (Let us know how that goes)

I think the term "nuff said" should be banned from the forums for ridiculousness. Does anyone actually say that?
