I am thinking about it just to see. But I really do not think it is worth it, otherwise the Lamannia posters would be all over these items.

So far I have four recipes, 3. 6. 7. and 16.

Is where it is at.

You want to upgrade the item for icy burst.

I put +1 Cold Touch on my +3 Thundering Dwarven Axe of Greater Giant Bane.

It gets rid of the Thundering and replaces with Cold Touch.

Before the axe was a d10+3 for damge for a base of 4-13. You would think by adding the +1 it would then become d10+4 for a base of 5-14 but the description did not change.

No idea if I hosed the weapon or not yet.

With recipe 4 and 5 of 20 I can upgrade to Icy Burst. The question is, will I pay for recipe 5?

I am using the recipes to prep for my true reincarnation. Right now have a ML 4 weapon of pure good / icy burst. Gonna do another holy burst + icy burst or fire burst + icy burst.

The weapon is still thundering, but the name will change and not say it.

I upgraded to Frost weapon.

I went into Gianthold and critical hit a giant and scored slash, thundering, and cold.

Ok, now this is going to make some interesting weapons. I need to research and see what I should be using this on. I know the smart players on these forums have created some ridiculous weapons already.

A Holy Weapon?
A Pure Good Weapon?
A Keen Weapon?
An Impact Weapon?
A Transumuting of Pure Good?
A Body Feeder?

I've been starting small (relatively). I don't have any high level characters yet (so nothing over ML12), and therefore I have not the funds to afford some of the drooltastic weapons people have been posting with new changes. I also am mainly using weapons which don't benefit greatly from Burst effects.

I've been focusing on blue coins, which has so far limited me to recipes 3 and 4. But that has allowed me to add Frost to a few sets of weapons. I'm happy about the decent bonus to steady damage for the following sets:

- A pair of Holy of Pure Good DAs
- A pair of Wounding (WoPG and WoParrying) DAs
- A Weakening of Weighted (2%) Handwraps
- A Shocking Burst of Weighted (3%) Handwraps (would be nice to get Frost Burst on this one, but not really worth it since it's only 3% Weighted)
- A pair of Wounding of Pure Good Kamas

And some others, plus I'm still looking for some more good candidates. Some ideals would be:

- A Keen of Maiming Rapier (possibly if I can add Frost Burst) for a non-melee focused character.
- A Maladroit of (something nice) Handwraps
- A Holy of Pure Good Handwraps (if I get extremely lucky)

I'd do it on a Greater Elemental Bane if I had one.

I put the icy burst on a +5 transmuting of pure good kukri. I can jump the harbor slopes well enough to score a purple about 1/3 of the time (and get several blues + enough whites to keep renting skates indefinitely) but with about 20 purple coins I only got one 5/20 recipe. None of my other weapons are of similar high caliber though so I'd sooner sell or trade any other 5/20 to get another such weapon rather than use it on one of my lesser quality ones.

Though I think I'll put the regular frost enchantment (have 5x copies of both 3/20 and 4/20) on my vorpals so they won't have that ordinary look to them anymore

I added it to my +5 Holy Rapier of Maiming and my +5 Thundering Rapier of Pure Good. Added an extra 1d6 per hit, which isn't bad considering how many times I hit. I just hate the fact that it changes the color of the weapon in the hot bar, and changes the prefix to Frost on all of them.

Speaking of weapons for lowbees, I added it to a +1 Flaming Great Axe of Pure Good, and kept it at ML 4. An extra 1d6 at that low level is actually pretty significant.

I musta turned in 250 blues (can't reach the purples, I gave up after 30 some odd tries) and I still have yet to see a #5.

I'm going to manufacture up a few weapons with this added to them, a few lowbee weapons, and some high level ones, and bank them for future characters. I dunno when we'll get the chance to do this again.

I have absolutely terrible time skating for coins, even with skates. I just gave up -- I play DDO in order to have fun, and ice coins are not worth the frustration. When I get enough white coins off fire elementals and mephits to reach 100 Winter Motes, I will put Cold Touch on my +5 Longbow and sell remaining recipies.

It is pretty easy to get two white coins in the harbor without using the ski jump. You will want a Jump spell.

I spent 20 minutes farming last night and got 150 white coins. Turn-in rewards included Recipe 3 and 75 motes (I already had 25) so I was able to add Frost Touch to my twinky +1 Acid Rapier.

Just to make it really twinky I added the Force Crit ritual too, so now I have a min level 2 weapon that is +1, does +1d6 acid, +1 frost, and on a crit, +1d4 force.

I hope to upgrade it to Frost and turn that +1 into a +1d6.

p.s. I also got some interesting potions that do not exist in any other form. Like a level 10 Fire Shield :)

Should I jump only at the end of the ramp? Or does it help if you start the slide also with a jump? What annoyed me most is the amount of time it takes to swim out of the harbor and get back to Harbormaster house on top of the cliff.

I too got 2 potions which, IIRC, add damage to Cold spells up to level 5. Not being a spellcaster, I will put them on AH eventually.

Ok, I'll describe what I do to make it there, though my technique isn't perfect by any means.

I start by jumping straight up onto the right rear corner of the ramp, and then sliding down and jumping off the front left corner (basically want to maximize contact with the ramp as you go down, a bouncy, uneven slide usually doesn't build up enough velocity for me to reach the first mid-air ramp). Though, I've managed to reach it once just sliding off when I accidentally stepped onto the ramp as I positioned myself so.

You want to launch at an angle to the left, and you should have enough air control to hit the first mid-air ramp. When on the first ramp, you don't need a lot of velocity for the next jump, so where you land isn't a big deal. Just go up and jump off (go at a slow/med speed), and mostly you do not want to go too fast or you'll sail over the flat block platform and hit the lighthouse.

Once you're on the block, you can make the next jump just by sliding down the narrow ramp to the right side. I find it helps a little to make a circle on the flat area so you build up some speed and then go sliding down. I miss this jump about half the time though (usually go launching off fine but then hit the air with 0 momentum for some reason and just start falling right away).

The last ramp is pretty straightforward, and you just slide down and then launch off and hope you hit the purple coin (pretty much random luck for me here, sometimes the same thing happens as on the last ramp and I get no air at all, other times I get too much air and go flying up and above the purple and miss it, so, again probably want to go for a medium speed launch).

Basically for all the jumps besides the first, I spam the spacebar (jump button) as I slide towards the edge to make sure I'm jumping off but I think that might be the cause of the "0 air" jumps I sometimes make. Probably not a good idea to get into the habit of doing that but if you're having trouble timing the jump at the edge it's something to consider.

For what it's worth, I do the jumps with the haste spell and 30 jump skill, and no feather fall at any point.

I'm pretty sure it's either only purple turn-ins, or just astronomically low probability from blues. I also haven't mastered the purple jumping yet, but I've turned in about 750 blues. No #5 whatsoever.

Of Bleeding? What suffix is that?

Of Bleeding? What suffix is that?

It's essentially the non-critical version of Maiming. Bleeding does 1d8 damage (untyped) to creatures that are vulnerable to bleeding... So living targets, no undead, no constructs. Oddly enough elementals are vulnerable to it.

Interesting. Never seen that as a suffix on a random drop before. I just new the Slicing from the Axe of Axadus and Mintu's that does 1d4 bleeding damage.
