View Full Version : I think my guild died.

Been playing again after a brief break, and most of my guild mates are just not playing anymore, or have moved elsewhere.

RIP Vanquished Fury.

So I'm shopping for a new guild.

But not just any guild will do!

First, the guild needs to be centered around having fun first, and being uber only to the extent that it makes the game more fun. Some of my characters are uber, others non-uber, and I have fun with both kinds.

Second, I would prefer a guild that is accepting of more casual players, because my fiancee plays sometimes, and she doesn't know all the quests, or have an encyclopedic knowledge of the rules and equipment (thats' what she has me for!) and a group that would leave her behind won't fly.

I'm not looking for a theme based guild. I do not want to have to roll a dwarf rogue splashed wizard to fit the guild.

I can zerg with the best of them, but 85% of the time I prefer to take my time and wring every bit of questing goodness from a dungeon. The other 15% of the time I like the challenge of going fast.. really fast. If I'm in a group with someone who can't keep up, I go back and help them. If I'm in a guild that's all zerg, I will not be happy. I can handle a non-zerging guild as I can pug out when I feel the need for speed.

I'm a veteran player (founder even), but noob-friendly. I enjoy playing tour guide with people who do not know a quest. I can handle and enjoy light rollplaying, and enjoy a halfling joke as much as the next guy, but heavy rollplaying is too much work.

I also reroll a lot. I have two accounts, but only a small number of high-ish level characters, one reincarnation on his way back up. As a result, my knowledge of some of the newer stuff is not as good as my knowledge of the older stuff, but I'm a quick study, and if I get in with a group running these things, I'll get up to speed very fast.

I'm also a fairly relaxed player, I play to have fun, and not to get mad or hold grudges. If a quest fails, I still had fun trying. Sometimes the party wipes are more memorable than the smooth runs, and a good recovery is the kind of epic stuff I thrive on.

I do not play every night, I have a family and things to do, but I do enjoy the game and play most nights.

For me a guild I want to join will be about community and fun. For me DDO is a social outlet as well as an adventure. Friends are more important than characters.

If you think I might be a good fit to your guild, let me know what your guild is all about, what makes it fun, how many people are playing on an average night (I'm in central time zone) and all that good kind of stuff.

If you have a toon on Cannith, we are recruiting...Silver Phoenix Legacy. Here is our charter:

Silver Phoenix - Legacy is a U.S.- based guild geared towards the more mature and casual player. This should not be misunderstood to mean that we are not serious about being a guild. We are a guild that supports friendship and fun over the "OMG Gimmie phat lewtz!" approach. We are not hardcore, but a group that tackles instances and raids with a balance of seriousness and silliness.

Silver Phoenix - Legacy realizes that real life comes first. Whether you have school, work long hours, have small children, or need to work on spouse favor, we support you. There are those who are able to enjoy DDO more often, for longer hours, and we support you as well. Nobody will be required to specialize or play a certain way to meet the needs of the guild.

We are a guild of casual players focused on questing, raid based instances, world interaction, and socializing. We are serious about being an online family and are open to mature, fair-minded people of all classes and professions. Courteous behavior, active participation, and a commitment to support our growing guilds community are the primary expectations of all members.

Silver Phoenix - Legacy defines casual to mean informal and relaxed. Silver Phoenix - Legacy will NOT impose any rule or Charter amendment requiring:

1. Mandated fellowing or grouping.

2. Mandated raid attendance.

3. Minimum playtime (with exception of the “abandoned characters”, which is defined as a character that has not been logged in over 30 days.)

4. Mandated leveling.

5. Mandated advancement.

6. Specific character or class creation builds.

There are a number of older guilds on the server (many with older players mainly) who seem to fit your demographics.

Sent you a PM highlighting The Unrepentant and our website. Here is our post http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=216033&highlight=awesomesauce and our website in unrepentantgaming.org

From your post, I think we'd be a good match. Although we're a guild in DDO, we're also a MMO gaming community with other active branches. It provides you with the opportunity to play hard in DDO and if you get bored here again, the opportunity to try out other MMO's with a good bunch of friends.

Have fun and avoid the usual guild B/S is our mantra. Hope to see you in game and hear from you. Cheers.

lmao. From all the other posts I've read, it's always Tot's fault - regardless of whether you were involved or not.

Twisted Fate would probably be a great fit for you...as long as you don't mind a little off color humor from time to time.

Rogue Saints are recruiting on Sarlona.

We are a fairly laid back group of individuals who enjoy each others company and DDO. We use TeamSpeak for communication

Requirements:
- You must be 20 years or older to join RS
- You must be able to use in game voice communications
- You must be willing to ‘keep it clean’ and act in a mature fashion, and believe in treating others with respect
- You must believe in teamwork, and tactics, and you need to be able to work within an in game command structure (ie – follow orders when orders are given).
- You must be dedicated and fun loving.

If this is the type of gaming ‘family’ you would like to belong to, and you meet the requirements listed above, please go to our website; http://www.rogue-saints.org , and fill out an application and/or post in our forums.

I've been playing with them for the last few months and have really enjoyed it. Everyone works together and helps each other. And mostly everyone is laid back and doesn't zerg through stuff unless its strictly a favor run for a lower level toon.

Look for Antello, Gambill, or Baylore in game and shoot us a tell if you're interested. One or all of us are on almost everynight for a few hours. If not us, hope you find a guild that works for you.

We have also opened up recruiting for a few more.

http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=190470

Check us out and look us up if you would like to run with us. You sound like most of the people in our guild and would fit in well. We have opened up recruiting specifically to try to find some that can raid on Wed nights.

Good luck on your guild hunt! :)
