Been playing again after a brief break, and most of my guild mates are just not playing anymore, or have moved elsewhere.
RIP Vanquished Fury.
So I'm shopping for a new guild.
But not just any guild will do!
First, the guild needs to be centered around having fun first, and being uber only to the extent that it makes the game more fun. Some of my characters are uber, others non-uber, and I have fun with both kinds.
Second, I would prefer a guild that is accepting of more casual players, because my fiancee plays sometimes, and she doesn't know all the quests, or have an encyclopedic knowledge of the rules and equipment (thats' what she has me for!) and a group that would leave her behind won't fly.
I'm not looking for a theme based guild. I do not want to have to roll a dwarf rogue splashed wizard to fit the guild.
I can zerg with the best of them, but 85% of the time I prefer to take my time and wring every bit of questing goodness from a dungeon. The other 15% of the time I like the challenge of going fast.. really fast. If I'm in a group with someone who can't keep up, I go back and help them. If I'm in a guild that's all zerg, I will not be happy. I can handle a non-zerging guild as I can pug out when I feel the need for speed.
I'm a veteran player (founder even), but noob-friendly. I enjoy playing tour guide with people who do not know a quest. I can handle and enjoy light rollplaying, and enjoy a halfling joke as much as the next guy, but heavy rollplaying is too much work.
I also reroll a lot. I have two accounts, but only a small number of high-ish level characters, one reincarnation on his way back up. As a result, my knowledge of some of the newer stuff is not as good as my knowledge of the older stuff, but I'm a quick study, and if I get in with a group running these things, I'll get up to speed very fast.
I'm also a fairly relaxed player, I play to have fun, and not to get mad or hold grudges. If a quest fails, I still had fun trying. Sometimes the party wipes are more memorable than the smooth runs, and a good recovery is the kind of epic stuff I thrive on.
I do not play every night, I have a family and things to do, but I do enjoy the game and play most nights.
For me a guild I want to join will be about community and fun. For me DDO is a social outlet as well as an adventure. Friends are more important than characters.
If you think I might be a good fit to your guild, let me know what your guild is all about, what makes it fun, how many people are playing on an average night (I'm in central time zone) and all that good kind of stuff.
