Hi all, need to know before i start my crafting.
Did a little bit research on transmuting, and they says its nerf-ed on ranged weapon as transmuting ranged weapon doesnt bypass DR/slash, bludgeon, pierce. As it only bypass DR/Metal type which i consider that as Metalline property?
Can someone confirm this? Thanks. :)

That's right (it was nerfed on all weapons, not just ranged) and transmuting items were renamed to metalline.
As of now, metalline only emulates all the metal properties with the exception of flametouched iron (which provides 'good' alignment to the weapon and is not included in metalline).
Ranged weapon users are the last ones to worry about this though, as they can freely purchase whatever material ammo they desire from Deneith favor.

Hi, thanks for the reply. Then what would be the the Mineral II property like? No more transmuting, changed to Metalline? Thank you.

Yes. Though this is not really a problem because MinII are usually holy + acid burst + ???? so they will still bypass most devil/demon DR.
The significant thing is that they're no longer good at beating skeletons, but then you can make something like a pair of pos/pos warhammers for that (or maul, whatever floats your boat).

Ahh, means new MinII really changed to Metalline? What about those old MinII crafted before Mod9? Got nerf-ed too?

Yeah. The crafting planner I use has not been updated in a while and still lists it as Transmuting though.

I have no idea about that one, sorry - I wasn't playing at that time. I would strongly assume that's the case though.

if you want to craft a bow, lightning is the better way to go anyway as you can use silverarrows and with the holy on it you can bypass those DRs too while having the nice lightning strike

Would it kill House D to sell blunt arrows for shooting Skells? Throw us a bone . . .

Now for sale in Deneith, NERF crossbow arrows! Skellies everywhere will fear your approach. ;)

How about one of those boxing-glove arrows from the Green Arrow comics? That's totally feasible.

Lol! +1 Sir.
Seriously though, they make blunt tips to arrows. Look up APDs. No giggling, but it's Anti-Penetration Device. It's a blunt tip used to ensure the arrow cannot go threw the slots of a helmet in our reenactments. The APDs are about the same diameter as a hammer head, which is a blunt weapon.

So this really exists? I was kinda joking but if it exists in reality why not?

Never really understood the skellie dr vs piercing thing. It was originally a 'half damage vs piercing' and was based on the theory that skellies have more space in their torsos so it is more likely to get a glancing blow or simply miss.
DR/blunt seems to forget the concept that limbs do get chopped off by slashing, and bones can be shattered by arrows from a bow.
The bow might have a harder time hitting, but that would be AC not DR.

Yes, but for ease of rule simplicity, it was decided DR was better rather than make special rules for every monster that was "unique" somehow.

The problem with making it how you suggest would be keeping track of everyones weapons that are attacking the skeleton, and adjusting AC accordingly for each. I suppose it could work statically the same way DR does, but would likely take a massive amount of code rewriting to do.

Well, the whole point of the ones he mentioned are so that you can shoot people without hurting them. Kinda defeats the point. :D
