I've had this set on the AH for a while now, actually reposting it twice.

Thought I did my homework on it and the first time, had it set at a buyout price of 1M GP. Didn't sell.

This time (second time) it's been dropped to 399K. It'll be there another 2 days, if anyone's interested.

Is this still too high? Seems like an awesome set, since it's Mithral and all. Am I mistaken that this should be coveted armor for mid-level fighter-caster types, or is the +4/+5 Mithral Chain Shirt getting all the attention instead?

Thanks for any replies.

Dunno about other players, but I'll be damned if I am going to pay that much for a +2 to AC (that's the difference between Mithral and regular, and only if you have the dex). That being said, it might sell. I sold that ring that comes out of "Captives" (Gravok??) for 10k+ plat, and probably could have gotten more. A fool and his money, yada, yada, yada...

It's weird because +4 Mithral Full Plate will sell easily for that much, but I guess that's because of its superior armor bonus?

Anyway, I may have to drop it again. Thanks for the feedback.

+4 Mithril Chain
AC +8
AC/DEX Bonus +14
Max dex bonus +6
Spell Failure +10%
AC Penalty Check 0

+4 Elven Chain
AC +9
AC/DEX Bonus +13
Max dex bonus +4
Spell Failure +20%
AC Penalty Check -1

The three things, Max Dex Bonus, Spell Failure, and an AC Penalty. So, the players that would use it are Rogues and Bards. But a Rogue would not want it for the AC Penalty and a BARD does not want it because of the SPELL Failure. A dex build does not want it because the DEX is only +4

A ranger would rather have Mithril Breastplate.

I also have a set of it, but I just have it.

Mystery solved, then. Price will drop again.

I appreciate it.

I am pretty sure that bards do not get arcane spell failure in ight armor, and mithril chainmail is light armor.

◦Armored Casting (passive): The Bard has simpler spells, allowing him to cast while in light armor without Arcane Spell Failure. This does not extend to heavier armors or shields

I put that on auction house yesterday or this morning and it sold.

I still have four sets in my bank.

I finally just dumped mine for about 20K gp. I was sick of re-posting it. :)

Bards don't take the spell failure chance on their own spells, but they do take the ASF whenever they use scrolls.
