I have been playing for about 2 years on the Thelanis server and since the new "free 2 play component" was added I have noticed in the LFM panel that many people are putting a level range of 4. For example 4-8, 6-10, etc. I thought you got an xp penalty for power leveling if you are a level 6 character in a quest with a level 10 character? I remember that there used to be an xp penalty or did they get rid of it? Are people just joining and taking the xp penalty - seems crazy to me.

Also, what is with all the people doing quests way below their level. I regularly see posting for quests like Irestone 5-9 (I don't consider myself an expert but it is soloable with a lvl 5 character easily) or Swiped Signet elite 7-11 (I'm not making this up) and it is not a favor run.

I fear because of all of this with so many new players who are making many mistakes and ill prepared for quests small guilds that nobody has heard of like ours are going to get denied for raids beacuse people will assume we are noobs. None of the 4 of us have been denied for any quests or raids and I hope that does not happen but I fear it might.

Anyways, just my two cents.

That range is showing up because -2/+2 is the default when you put up an LFM now (it used to be 1-20 and many new ppl couldn't seem to be bothered to fix it when they posted).

Yes, the penalty for more than 3 levels appart still exists. I'm sure some people find out the hard way.

It probably should be more like -1/+2, to avoid possible XP penalties. It confused the hell out of me when that changed, I thought they'd increased the number of levels you could be apart from each other to go along with it. But apparently they didn't. :(

Yeah, for me that was one of my moments of pure bliss when they added auto-level ranges. I'd been begging for that for a while. But yes, it should have been +1/-2.

Now if they would just *require* you to put in the name of your quest (and add the infrastructure enhancements necessary for that in the LFM panel.)
