View Full Version : Cautiously considering a guild

Howdy:
I run with three-four guys I know well, we are all USA central time zone, all have jobs, and play perhaps for a couple of hours in the evening after supper, or an extended run on a weekend when no one's spouse/SO is on the warpath about spending so much time in front of the computer.
Since there are only three or four of us on at a time (or fewer, depending on happenstance), it might be nice to belong to a guild, to reduce the PUG problems.
Some of us are long time MMO players, others are new to MMOs, and we have figured out that we don't want to be in a "role play till your throat is raw from talking in character" guild, nor a "your build is gimp, get out", or even "you must run three raids a week to grind for X or we won't let you do anything with the guild" kinds of outfit.
We are grown men with jobs, and don't need another job in DDO, but would hope to find a gang of like minded individuals who want to get good loot, have a tight team, take a bit of time the first time through the dungeon, then zerg when everyone's comfortable with the layout.
Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Thruck (Joseph)

you already have 4 players, find yourself another two, start a guild, and then only party up with those people when your'e all on. that's one way. if you were on ghallanda i'd send you all invitations :)
i agree with your sentiment, games should not be your second job.

I'm usually not one to advertise about my guild (it currently consists of me, my husband, and random alts of some friends we made on DDO) but it certainly sounds like we're very like minded. If you happen to see Avaene or Kelryne in game, send me a tell =) We can at least look into grouping together.

Silver Phoenix - Legacy is a small group of like minded people.
Right now we are currently about 8 members. We are like you, we pretty much just group together, have fun.
We do not care about what builds people run. We believe that you should just play what you like to play as long as your having fun.
We also believe that real life comes first. If your playing and need to log, even when in the middle of a quest, we totally understand.
Currently we have a husband and wife team, a father and daughter team, and a brother team. So we like to consider our guild a family as well. No drama.
We like to take things slow, explore in areas we have never been. We also do like to zerg through areas we know, if that is what other people would like to do as well. So it's totally casual.
We are a U.S based guild. And we have found that we usually are on at the same times. Monday-Friday about 6pm-10pm Central. Weekends are kind of free for alls when it comes to people logging in, mostly afternoon.
We would love to add a few more people to the guild. Going to try and keep it small, around 15 members.
If interested, contact Zanex in game. Or you can visit our web site at :

No strings attached, no mandatory anything. :) Try us out. If you feel like it's not a fit, we totally understand if you want to adventure elsewhere. It's all about the person having fun and enjoying their company.

Hi there
The Spellbinders is one of the bigger guilds on the server and we try to find the right balance between being able to access end game but not being exclusive. We have members across all ages and experiences and in a wide variety of locations as well. We were formed on the European servers many years ago and recently moved to Cannith due to the well publicised problems over there. Being very open most of our members are European based but we have an increasing number of US and Oceanic members as well. I'm particularly keen to increase the number of US based players to offer the best gaming experience for all of our members, regardless of when they play. During peak EU times we have up to 40 players online and during peak US times between 10 and 15. Our play style is varied to reflect the wishes and playstyles of our members.
If you'd like to give us a try then just send a tell to any online members - you shouldn't have any problems finding us :)

You guys sound like you would be a great fit for our guild, The Silver Legion. We are a part of Guild Medieval, a well established, long standing guild with a presence on several games. The DDO guild is The Silver Legion. We believe a player's life and family is more important than a game. Check us out. If you like what you see, put in an application. http://www.guildmedieval.com.
