I pulled some loot and my PUG cheered for me. "Grat's on great loot!" they said. But now I'm wondering which item is great? Were they cheering for me because I pulled Gwylan's blade? Or were they cheering for me because I pulled a +1 SR(13) Greatest Devotion I Heavy shield?
Neither seems particularly useful to me. I play a Cleric. I don't have weapon proficiency shortsword. And I already have a Greater Devotion (40%) III shield.
Anyway, I was wondering which of those two items is cheer-worthy?
Thanks in advance. :)

The shield is junk. The blade is marginally useful. Overall, I agree, not exciting loot.

The blade, purely because it's a named item.
That happens a lot regardless of whether the item in question is actually good or not, party members just see a name that isn't a generic lootgen item name and cough up a congrats.

Wow, thanks for the quick responses.
Ok thanks. We got ambushed by minotaurs durring the victory dance so I wasn't able to ask them. (Think about that for a second -- Minotaur sneakyness >= PUG tactics :o )

Good question.
As a Bard that actually own's a Gwylans's, the benefit is that the bonus to Preform stacks. Only thing I can guess as to be 'cheer-worthy' in this case.

The Giant Killer Knife is the best thing to come out of there and THAT merits a congratulations. Dual-wielding them at Stormcleave is wonderful fun later on.
